Wilderness Resort Villas LLC - Resort hotel in Pequot Lakes - 6208 Wilderness Rd, USA

This is your typical cabin up North... The updated units are great, but the ones that haven’t been updated are pretty run down. Which we stayed in. My husband and I also got poison Ivy or Oak from walking on the trail/ by the lake. There were NO signs present so stay FAR away from the sides of the path… please put up signs for it for people in the future. Also, we were thinking that the property sprays from mosquitoes so you can use your fire-pit out back- but we all could hardly sit outside because the bugs in general were so bad. The beds inside the cabin were also VERY uncomfortable and kept squeaking anytime you moved. Unfortunately, my husband and I picked the room in the basement- which had the air conditioning right outside the window. Horrible sleeping situation….. Not sure who decided it was a good idea to put it right outside the window, but it kept us up all night and we eventually moved out in the living room and slept there because of the noise. Highly recommend to anyone staying here in the future: getting one of the updated units if you stay here and bringing long pants and a ton of bug spray. Overall, not a good experience for us.

We had a great time! The villa was lovely and well equipped. Beds were comfortable and there was plenty of room. We were planning a pool tournament because our villa had a pool table in the loft. We had to scratch that because there were no cue sticks. That was disappointing. There is a TV in pretty much every room and living area, but no instructions for their use. We would have liked to watch the T-wolves game but could not figure out which remotes did what. We were able to watch a movie on DVD, so that was good. An instruction sheet would have been very helpful. There were 3.5 bathrooms in the villa, which was great. In the upstairs loft and downstairs bathrooms, it took us two days to figure out how to make the shower work. We finally did a Google image search on the faucet and got the directions. Instructions for that would have been nice as well. The unit is not great for people with a mobile disability. One of the people in our group had a hip replacement and had a difficult time with the low-to-the-floor toilets in the villa. At least one should be updated. It was a very rainy and cold weekend, so we were not able to enjoy the screen porch and grill. We would have enjoyed those very much. They are great amenities to offer. There was a jacuzzi tub in the Owner's suite as well. It rained so hard one of the doors and windows leaked. The fireplace was warm and comforting. All the appliances were updated and in great shape. The lake view was amazing! We even saw a bald eagle fly right over our villa! All said, we had a great time and with a few tweaks, upgrades and instructions ( and cue sticks), it would be damn near perfection. We will be back!

Stayed in Villa 23. Beautiful accommodations. Villas are beautiful and cozy feeling but lots of room for the family. Beautifully decorated. Loved the location. Close to Nisswa and Pequot lakes. Many of the amenities of the bigger resorts without all the crowds and a fun, boutique feel. Loved being on the water and having dock access. Workout room was good. Loved indoor pool and jacuzzi for rainy days. Love that they have paddle boards, kayaks, paddle boat and canoes for guests that do not cost extra to use. You never see that at lake resorts! Lots of memories made. Love this place.

Hardworking Mark and Missy and staff have made so many upgrades to the property. Each year it’s filled with new surprises. We loved the new easy to get into paddle boat. And the beach is always prestine, ready for fun! We stayed in unit 16 the last two years. We love the location of the villas and the incredible view of Middle cullin. So calming to be enjoying the fire fit overlooking th lake while listening to the loons. For us, Wilderness point is a little slice of heaven. Making memories with our family is something you can’t put a price on but in shopping around at other properties with love the flexibility of being able to stay less than a week. The kids used the pool, while we used the hot tub and sauna and easy to watch them! They also have pool toys, how nice is that! And the house by the lake is also stocked with life jackets etc. how nice is that! wilderness point is special and it’s special because of Mark and Missy! Thanks for another great vacation! Can’t wait to the next one!

We were incredibly disappointed with the cabin that we stayed in. The online photos did not accurately represent the state of this cabin. There were cracks in the doors letting dirt and bugs in, we walked through cobwebs as we entered the door, the kitchen cabinets were peeling, the bathroom was atrocious and there was standing water in the shower, the fireplace was boarded up, and we immediately went to work trying to clean the place up ourselves. It was as if none one had stepped foot in this cabin in months or years. We ended up leaving the same day and booked a hotel instead for cheaper. Luckily, the worker was understanding and gave us a full refund. Would not recommend staying at this establishment.

Great place cabins are perfect for your typical family Definitely not high end . But absolutely worth the price . Enjoyed our stay will return

This is the second time I have stayed in one of the villas. This time we stayed in villa 13 and it was perfect! The amount of space and accommodations were spot on. Not to mention the cabin is stunning! Loved the towering fireplace and view of the lake.

Great location. We stayed in villa 23. Beautiful place. Nice pool table was a huge bonus. Bring extra bedding if you plan to use all sleeping arrangements because there wasn’t much extra but that is the only negative. Fishing on the lake was great! The pool was perfect for non lame days. The fitness center was as good or better then most hotels. The lake is super clean and quiet. The grounds are kept up extremely well. It would be nice to have more paddle boards to use but they do have one and two kayaks plus canoes. They could upgrade those but still nice to have some. The staff and other families were all fantastic. If you want a great cabin experience with a bigger group I would highly recommend this place, especially if you want to enjoy a quiet clean fish filled lake!
