Wiebe Motel - Featured Reviews (82)
It depends on what you are looking for and if the price is budget enough. The room itself was clean, and the management was kind and brought me extra pillows and helped me with the TV remote, they also let me check out at 11am, which seems like it should be that anyway but apparently it's 10am. My guess is that they get alot of workers staying there, but when the other motels are full such as my case they probably get people that are slightly disappointed by the lack of furnishing in the rooms, the raggedy towels, and the spongy pillows. The bed is a memory foam mattress on a wood box frame. Some people might like memory foam, I would havepreffered a normal mattress but I was more concerned about how it appeared well soiled. It has a nice tile bathroom and decent linoleum flooring and a small table, for the queen bed room. But there is no desk under the TV, no nightstands and no lamps (just the bright overhead light. It almost seems like they ran out of money to furnish the rooms. I called and asked for a lamp and was told there are no lamps in the motel. It does, however come with a mini-fridge which is a nice amenity. There isn't much else around but there is a gas station/mini-mart a quarter mile away. This place would be so much better if it had the missing furnishings, decent towels, pillows and a better bed. It's the cheapest motel in town, and it shows. Again, the management seemed quite kind.
Friendly, but lacks furnishings, and the towels were in very bad condition. The room itself seemed clean, but the bed was quite soiled memory foam and the pillows are cheap and spongy. It's the cheapest motel in town but I would still expect more for the price. It has a nice tile bathroom and decent linoleum, but it seriously looks like they ran out of money to furnish the rooms. There are no lamps (just the bright overhead light), no desk under the TV, and no nightstands. If they actually furnished the rooms and replaced the beds, pillows, and towels - then it would actually be a much more comfortable place to stay and worth more stars.
Don’t stay here … booked a room. Came late due to hollister being way farther then I knew. They had a closed sign on door, no staff. I ended up sleeping in their lot in my car as there were no other rooms near by. I left at 7 AM. Was told by property this morning at 8 that they were there the whole night. Nope, I rang the doorbell, called their phone number & slept on their property. No one was there. They refused to refund me because I should have known even though I cant find anywhere in the confirmation email that they closed the whole motel at 11 PM. I wouldnt have booked it then, It was desperation due to nothing else available …
Room was restored and clean, quiet but no dead bolt on the front door, bathroom window needs replacing, left over from the sixtys, not lockable. Nice hosts. Needs some finish detailing. Two towels, no washcloths.
HORRIBLE experience. Room is disgusting. Bathrooms are filthy. AC filter has an inch deep of dirt on its filter. They charged $110 for bedsheets had stains, pillows had stains on them, sheets had weird stains on it. The mattrress had weird stains on it & was brown. There was just stuff swept under. Bathroom was holding water, the floors were filthy. Towels had stains. No, mirror, microwave or refrigerators. The walls were falling apart.
Only stay here if your other options are either sleeping in your car or on the street. Guy was nice at check in but rooms are poor. Blood on the wall/curtain? Unsure, but stains all over walls. Floors felt icky. Sink clogged instantly. Couldn't bring myself to shower here. Slept amazing though. This isn't a serious business operation.
I think some of the prior reviews of this hotel may have been a little harsh.||||It's an older property, a classic American motel dating from the 1950s or perhaps even the late 40s. It is operated by a very kind and gracious couple who have owned it for the last 40 years. They are now getting on in age, although their hospitality is still first-rate. ||||If you like the unique charm of older motels, and don't care for all the signs, display cards, and "sameness" of the big chains, you will enjoy staying here. The property is very tidy and well-kept, and the sheets are crisp and clean. Rooms have all the expected amenities - fridge, microwave, coffee machine, desk, etc. The Wi-Fi system is very fast and totally reliable. Both smoking and non-smoking rooms are available. There is a nice selection of quality magazines (National Geographic, Fortune, etc.) available in the office to take back to your room and read at your leisure.||||Be aware, though, that some of the furniture is older and the decor is older (things that matter, like mattresses, are new). Also be aware that the owners are older too, thus perhaps a bit old-fashioned in their business practices. For example, I was not sure how long I would stay (I eventually stayed 3 days), and rather than just doing a pre-authorization of my credit card and settling up on the last day, I was politely asked to pay each day as the days passed. That was no problem for me.||||If you are a relaxed kind of person, if you appreciate gracious hospitality, and if your disposition is such that you tend to see the good in things before you find things to criticize, then I think you will enjoy staying here. But, if you are stressed, if you want tonight's hotel room to look exactly like last night's hotel room somewhere else, perhaps better to go stay in a larger chain hotel.||||As for me, I'll happily return, and I'll also recommend this motel to my friends. It is clean, calm, and tranquil.||||The rates (about $60 a night) are a bit higher than one would expect for this type of motel, but it appears that is due to a general shortage of hotel/motel rooms in the Hollister area. Most other properties in this town are around $90 a night.
The place is quaint, old, and fixtures outdated BUT was clean, quiet, and far from crowded. Bed very comfortable, though you might of from check in ask for additional pillows as those in room are very thin and no support. Location is just out of town along frontage road and traffic sounds were of no concern. Location for us was great as no lights, sounds of town and such were not an issue. One eve we pulled out room chairs out front to enjoy the evening. George the Maintenance/housekeeper/gardener man was very helpful, friendly and provided whatever we asked. He was appreciated. Overall, yes, old but serves purpose for sleep and relaxation. Would stay again.
What a beautiful view at a great winery after hiking 10+ miles at Pinnacles National Park. Host was amazing and gave us complimentary nuts and cheeses :)
Like others, we stumbled onto Calavera on our way to Pinnacles, so glad we didnât go so the white and green place. Friendly, delicious, local, and they sell music. Roast and sell both Cat and Cloud (Santa Cruz) and Vertigo (San Juan Bautista). Had
I was only at Hanniganâs for 7 months but my experience was great. It was easy to get a space and an easy process once I didnât need it anymore. Gate access is simple and easy and it felt secure. I had a good experience here.
I just ordered coffee beans for the first time and was so impressed by the exceptional customer service and fast delivery. Beautiful packaging, easy to open and close bags as well as outstanding product quality. These folks truly care about their cof
Very quaint and well stocked farm stand, actually more like a farm boutique. Lots of local products, everything from flavored popcorn to fresh produce... Packaged nuts, dried apricots, entire display of hot sauce products, lovely grown walnuts and a
At first I was very skeptical of the new coffee shop in town. I've been to a Dutch Bros in the past and a different area in California and I was not impressed at all. This one though, they changed my mind. The coffee had flavor and I love the atmosph
While on my morning run today I found this restaurant and came back for lunch. The service was excellent from the very beginning and everyone had a smile. The 3 Taco Salmon Blackened Fish Tacos was delicious and veggies in it tasted fresh. It remind
