This Arden area Whole Foods Market has a fabulous meat and seafood department, likely the best in all of Sacramento. The selections are unrivaled by any other grocer. Most meat and seafood counters have a very common standard of salmon, tilapia, cod, and sometimes snapper or halibut; and it doesn't look very fresh. In addition to the common standards, served brighter and fresher, this store generally offers fresh Chilean Sea Bass, swordfish, ahi ahi, Mahi, king crab and snow crab, oysters that don't stink to high heaven, and so on.
You can actually buy a 2" thick steak and, on occasion, a tomahawk steak ready for the grill! I truly don't know of anywhere else in SacTown you can make that purchase.
They also offer a great ready to eat area with pizza by the slice, sandwiches made to order, prepared dinners, etc. The bakery here is top notch, offering a much higher level of treats and such than other grocery store bakeries offer. There's no comparison.
For the health minded souls, the organic options, vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, and other special dietary selections are endless.
Great spot for a wide variety of organic and non gluten products. Customer service was awesome.
Loved the sandwich bar and sushi place inside.
This one star review makes me so sad! A former Super Fan of whole foods and now get so sad and upset shopping there! I LOVED this location so much! Their excellent hot bar and salad bar, top notch dessert and the best produce in town. Also I LOVED their 365 brand. I was practically their spokesperson recommending this store often. But now the minute I walk in I see a sample display with a tiny bite of a cookie in a piece of plastic that will pollute our earth for at least 6 generations. One small bite of food and a piece of plastic on the earth for 400 plus years. I have mentioned this to management MANY times but now they are doubling down on their pollution and I saw 5 different stations all using unnecessary plastic! The sad part is if a store that literally has 'eco friendly' in their description is so thoughtless with samples when they could easily use another method. I would be happy to contribute different options so this store can go back to being a place I truly enjoy shopping vs a place that makes me feel super sad. One can purchase 1,000 little paper containers for $11.00 on Amazon. Say the word and I will purchase these and deliver them to my former beloved store.
This is a great Whole Foods. Great bakery and deli and cheese selection. Very good produce. Nice meats and fish. Flower section is great. Needless to say, it's pricey. but Amazon members do get pretty decent discounts on select items. It's all around very good. Note: Parking can be challenging during peak shopping hours.
Really great fish and meat counter. Excellent quality, prices very good for fish, especially if you have Prime account. Produce likewise. If you stayed away 'cuz of high price rep, you need to check it out again. Breakfast buffet also is back, not as diverse as pre-Covid, but still good. Coffee bar very good. Competitive prices on most items throughout the store. Go elsewhere for wines, tho.
Honestly, less than 1 Star. There is a progressive decline in Vegan products, organic vegetables, fruits and some of our favorites have totally disappeared. I spoke with Management, including Anthony who interrupted me more than 3 times and stated that Corporate retains complete control of the store. With that being said and no other recourse for me as a customer with concerns about the store, I stated that I will no longer shop at Whole Foods. He stated, "Suit yourself, you have your opinion". Fortunately for me, I behave way better and more appropriately than Anthony. I have choices!!!
Not sure how this store has gone so down hill . The last 3 times I have gotten pizza it’s burnt . Frustrated to say the least
Smaller whole foods location, but they have a huge deli, hot food, and produce section. Large whole body section, although the freezer section is small. Parking is plentiful, although folks can get a bit crazy in the parking lot. They also have a dedicated mini-shop for Amazon returns, which is nice because some whole foods just have a counter in the middle of the store.
