The leaves are turning golden, and it's a beautiful time and place to watch the birds and other wildlife. Paths, for the most part, are clear and clean. The paths further back on the property could use a bit more refinement, but it is still a beautiful loop. Suggest watching their calendar for events, especially as the Sandhill cranes start making their way back.
Beautiful place to explore and walk around and see nature's wildlife. It's amazing how much has returned since the big hole wildfire on April 11th 2022.
Very nice place safe a family of deer within a minute or two upon entering.! Love all the lil lookout decks they're very well placed.

Clean and beautiful trail. Partly shaded just dont forget the BUG SPRAY. I was able to pull along a wagon with my daughter in it, a real easy trail.
Converted dairy farm into wild lands to protect local birds and wildlife. Collection of trails leads to a lake. Brief hours staffed information center. The area is more lush than pics show worth the hike.
I haven't been here, but I really like New Mexico. I live in Texas, the new bigot state, but I've been all over the state. The craziest, freak weather I have ever experienced was in Santa Rosa July 3, 2013. About 6:30-7 pm, my daughter and I had just got back from eating dinner and it started clouding up. And it began to hail, it got heavier and heavier and heavier. I thought a tornado was next. The next morning, there was 18" to 24" of hail on the ground and about 50°. A snow plow came, got stuck. Next a road grader, it pulled the snow plow out. 2013 July Santa Rosa hail storm.
Visited this spot for the 2023 solar eclipse. Nice wooded walking trail.
