Whitesbog Historic Village - Historical landmark in Browns Mills - 120 W Whites Bogs Rd #34, USA

I found Whitesbog very quaint peaceful and interesting. The mini tour was informative learning about the cranberry bogs which were almost ready to harvest The General store brought several childhood memories back and all volunteers were happy friendly and gave excellent history of the Village.

It is a fantastic place to visit, take a walk, and just enjoy nature.

Great place and area to walk and learn a bit about local history. The old school general store is a cool window into how and what things use to be. They offer snacks, books, treats and memorabilia of times past. The store does not have set hours but you can count on them being open on Saturdays. Besides the general store and the historic village, they offer a wide range of events through out the spring, summer, and fall. I highly recommend visiting.

Excellent place to take a walk, within the multiple lakes for cranberry growing all placed within a grid of sandy roads snaking in and out of pine forests. Wonderful for wildlife observation and just a peaceful environ enveloping you within a natural and peaceful wrapping. As a musician I also appreciate the many events that Whitesbog puts on, the Blueberry Festival as well as monthly ad hoc music circle jamming "Blueberry Jam" where I have met many wonderful friends and colleagues. Whitesbog is run by ethical and dedicated staff - worthy of your time and attention.

One of the best hiking experiences in Pine Barrens if you like a combination of blueberry/cranberry bogs and pine woods. Franklin Parker preserve is quite similar but reverts to more wild state with time since bogs there are not maintained.

Visited with 11-yr-old grandson who was fascinated by the history and very happy to go home with a book about ghosts and other quirky things in the New Jersey Pine Barrens.
