This place is so cute! Well thought out design with a fridge, microwave, nice little spot to eat, comfortable beds, a smart TV with Netflix included, soft fluffy towels. It's in a great location with walkable access to restaurants and shops, and an easy drive to the big lake as well as other fun local recreation. The owners clearly put a lot of care into redoing this charming vintage motel. They kept the character while making the right updates to make it work well for modern guests. The floors are vinyl, so they're soft underfoot but also very practical for tracking in sand from adventures. Electrical outlets were not as plentiful as I would have liked. If you have a battery powered lamp it might come in handy, as there was no lamp on the table between the beds. A couple of things to note if you happen to have autistic or sensory sensitive family members: the soap, shampoo, and lotion are heavily fragranced so you may want to bring your own if that's an issue. The water pressure in the shower is very high, which I loved but my daughter had a hard time with. (It's not really adjustable, if you turn the pressure down it just kind of turns into a more concentrated stream... sort of hard to describe.) The beds and floors are a bit creaky, so you may want to bring white noise if you have a light sleeper or someone sensitive to sound. Overall I recommend this place and will stay there again if we come back to Whitehall!
This was a pretty cool place. I didn't know the check in was completely online until I walked up to the building, but it was easy to figure out. The room was clean and just what I needed for thus trip.
Wow, and not in a good way. I walked in the room and could have fallen down. The floor slopes downward as you walked in, almost to where I lost my balance. The door to the room had a half inch gap allowing in light and noise. There was a hair in the sink from someone’s private parts! The shower door didn’t close completely. The television connection kept disappearing for no reason. Room #6 is so small, I could have stretched out across the width of the room and touched both walls. On the website it showed two beds and I only got one. My son couldn’t stay with me as planned so he had to find different accommodations somewhere else, which made the cost of our stay more than double what we intended to pay for a one night stay. If you like closets, forget it! There is no place to hang up a suit or even a t-shirt! Oh, a comfortable bed.
.My best girlfriend, and I stayed there July 15 and 16th. My biggest complaint would be the bedbugs!!! My girlfriends body was bitten from head to toe! There was an infestation on her side of the bed. Not to mention that. Yes, the pictures on the website are deceiving. The inside of our room needed an update badly. Also, did the outside of the building. There was a porch attached to our room that was run down. The floor was on a slant, and the door was a rickety old aluminum door. The floors were so dirty that I would not walk barefoot. I don’t think they had been cleaned in a couple months. no little toiletries or snacks in the cupboard. No coffee pot, and the inside of the microwave was dirty with dried food . When we try to get our money back regarding bedbugs, he kept giving us the runaround for two weeks! He would either give us excuses or not reply at all. Overall, I would give this place is zero.
Would recommend! We were in Room #2, which was cutely decorated. The room is relatively small, but it's all you need, especially if you'll be out exploring during the day. Loved: - Spotlessly clean - Great location - Quiet guests - Books in room - Snacks in room - Water bottles in fridge - Self check-in - Overall vibe - Box fan (in addition to AC unit) - Value for cost Suggestions: - Coffee maker. Even one of those little single cup makers would easily fit on the desk or in the cupboard - Scraping the popcorn ceiling. The ceiling is low, so we kept bumping it when changing or stretching, and little "puffs" of popcorn would come floating down - A chain on the door. While we felt safe, smart locks are hackable, and any hotel room would have a chain lock in addition to the deadbolt
DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!! They keep saying that it is my mom’s fault then they go and have a slanted floor and lie to you on the website I HATE IT and the place is trash smoking is not allowed but no one is on site
Our stay here was very nice. It was a pretty good price for our stay. The room was themed as the Garden room with flowers and such. Adds a nice touch! We had a microwave, a mini fridge and freezer, a nice TV with Netflix on it that you could swivel to whichever way you wanted. The beds were comfy and clean. The heating system was effective and quiet. The ability to unlock the door simply by typing in the code was great too, we didn't have to worry about losing a card. If we did forget the code, we could always look at our phone to look it up.
Room #8 was just as pictured but shabby. The renovation of that room was not recent. The back bedroom window opened but not the storm window. There were dead bugs on the front windowsill. The bathroom window opened but had no screen. On the plus side, it was quiet. The shower was hot. The mini fridge/freezer was great. The far bed was comfortable.
My experience was great here. Susan the General Manager was awesome. She honored my room location request and was very polite. When I come back this is where I will stay.
What a charming place with great food! After an afternoon of walking the area my wife and I stopped at Pekadillâs for a sandwich. We are glad we did. My wife got a beef sandwich on rye and loved it. I got their rendition of a Reuben called a St
This is a restaurant that I like very much in the United States. The food is very delicious and there are many choices. The staff are very friendly and the overall feeling is very good.
