White Deer Motel - Motel in Montgomery - 6849-7169 US-15, USA

This motel had 4 star review. Website looked nice. I’m the photos the rooms looked outdated, but clean and tidy. I’ve driven by in the past and it looked nice. That was not the case. It was musty smelling and not clean! Not just outdated as the photo showed, But In disrepair. The bathroom had cobwebs in the corner and mold in the shower. The outlet that the mini fridge was plugged into was hanging out of the wall. The old school square 2x2 mini fridge was sitting on the floor. The pillowcases were stained. The carpet was gross. I was afraid to put my clothes or bags on the floor. We didn’t stay the night. No one was on site to see about this. It was 11pm at this point so we just left.

White Deer Hotel has a lot of plusses. The management works hard and is respectful of its visitors. The maid is very clean and professional. The hotel is affordable and a good place to transition when you are travelling or looking for an apartment. My biggest issue with the hotel is the landfill smell -- it can wreak up the room and the entire area around it and the hotel water pressure isn't great and there is a bad smell coming from the water faucet - my guess, its well water. I stay because its cheap and management is nice but Its not a great long term place to be.

My wife and I stayed here as a low-cost alternative to some of the more expensive Williamsport hotels for the Drum Crops finals. It was clean, comfortable and well-appointed, and it's a great location right outside of Williamsport. The reviews you read about the owners being nice and helpful are absolutely what we experienced - very pleasant, easy process. We will be back next year -

It's a long-time fixture on US 15. It definitely shows it's age, and the new owners are slowly renovating the property (we were on the side they haven't gotten to yet). Having said that, the room was clean, the hot water worked, and the bed was okay- we got what we paid for.

Spent 1 night here after riding the Pine Creek Trail from Wellsboro to Jersey Short. The entire area was booked for the Little League World Series. There were only a few rooms left and Charlie was very accommodating as I delayed my start date by 1 day due to weather. Check in was easy. The room was exceptionally clean and neat. Simple but perfect. Must have been recently done over (new carpet, fresh paint, new A/C unit, new flat screen TV). Even the fridge and microwave were spotless. A short drive to Williamsport. Would definitely stay here again. WiFi was better that in some chain hotels I've stayed at.

The owner and house keeping are so awesome! Very accommodating and flexible with guests. They are also great if you are traveling with pets. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. The location is quiet but still conveniently located. Would highly recommend.

This place was VERY relaxing, very clean and served my family great! Well kept property with all the neceessities for a night or longer stay. Check in was TOTALLY effortless and makes me wonder why more places dont do the same thing. Outdoors was also well kept and nicely mowed/landscaped. We spent our evening on the porch relaxing and took advantage of the nice swing! Price was perfect for out budget and much below other area places! Loved it! Will stay again!!!

I have been staying at the White Deer for about 10 years now, 2 to 3 times a year. Excellent Mom and Pop, original section is classic 50's 60's style, rooms are smaller, but clean, with updated furnishings, carpets etc. All rooms have Fridge and Microwave. Beds comfortable. The Newer Annex has larger rooms, and some have Kitchenette area. This has changed hands a few years ago, but the new owners never skipped a beat on the operation and upkeep of this family run business.
