As far as low budget motels go, this is one of the better ones. Know what to expect, it is no frills. However, it was clean and the WiFi worked. The staff was friendly and remembered our names, always asked if we wanted towels. Most importantly, it felt safe, which is not always the case with these types of motels.

I’m not sure what people are expecting, this is a low budget motel, and one of the better ones I’ve stayed in. The room was clean, the WiFi was good, and the staff was friendly. It is run by Indians, I think perceived rudeness is the result of a cultural difference. Most importantly, I felt safe there, which is not always guaranteed at places like this

First off, the lady up front makes sure that you get what you want. When we called to get a room, she asked us if we wanted a room with beds. That’s exactly what we wanted. I was needing to cut my toe nails but didn’t feel like bending down to do so. But the chipped tile in the bathroom took care of that. And other people must’ve took advantage of this feature because there was a pile of toe nails in the corner. The color tv was definitely a plus. Enjoyed watching M.A.S.H reruns on it. Minimal mattress stains. Can’t wait till next year to try the rooms with out beds.

My wife and I happen to book the Hotwire hot deal thinking it was a 2 1/2 star motel. When we pulled up the first thing that came out of both our mouth was holy cow this is the Bates Motel. When we checked in the first thing I was notified that we had a smoking room. Bad news for two of us that are on CPAP machines. During our stay there with a couple of bugs crawling around. Was not nice. We also had the experience of the smoke detector falling from the ceiling just missing my wife’s head by about a foot. The room is actually on a 5° slant. So when you try to wheel the chair around it actually pushes you back to the wall. There’s about a foot of space between the bed and the wall to get to the bathroom. You actually have to turn sideways to access the bathroom. Exposed wiring. Not good. This hotel is need of a desperate revamp. If not razed together. They need to put a new hotel on the property. It looks like something out of the 30s. I mean the 1830s. Duplex receptacles without covers on them what hazard this was. I already reported them to the Asheville fire department for numerous violations. As a to top it off I was charged $200 a night to stay in the sleaze hotel Hotwire gave me a $30 credit. Unfortunately I pick the highest vacancy rate season to go on this trip. I learn my lesson I will |definitely be booking in advance and doing my research before hand. It's an Indian establishment where they speak broken English. Room was clean, but musty smell. I paid them $180 ($90 for 2 nights), however I decided not to stay mainly because I felt unsafe and the people I saw were pretty seedy looking. When I asked if I could get a refund they said no, but then they decided to give me $80 in cash for the 2nd night. They also said they could not refund the taxes, which I guess was included in the $180 (never saw a breakdown). I give this 5 thumbs down and would not even consider staying there in future.

3.0 The place was not terrible and a good stop that is affordable. It was a little smoky and there needs to be renovations to the bathroom as the door and below the bathroom sink are missing pieces. It did smell a little smoky and a family member got a splinter there. Still, it wasn't a bad place and the staff was pleasant. It's definitely not a 4, but not a straight 3 either. It is an okay place to stay overnight before journeying to your next city, but for longterm I would say to look elsewhere.

Motel has a lot of bad reviews but our stay was quite pleasant. The bathroom could use some updating but the rooms were much nicer than expected. The room smelled clean and fresh. The beds were clean and comfortable. The staff was nice as well. Would definitely stay again.

Upon arrival, I was hesitant about what was claimed to be a “disgusting” and “0 star” motel. I was blown away by how incredibly pleasant my whole stay was! The sinks are absolutely beautiful, all the lights worked, and the shower was nice. My sole complaint would be that the comforter was a little rough and the blankets felt a bit like tissue, but I think it was, overall, a sensible motel experience. I would stay here again if I ever found myself back in the area, and the reviews people have left do not do it great justice in any sense.
