We were returning from vacation and were too exhausted to drive further when we discovered Whispering Oak Mansion. Absolutely perfect in every way! Immaculate, comfortable, and totally gorgeous- it’s truly got it all. We played a little tennis this morning right out back and are now refreshed and ready to resume our drive. If we’re ever in the area again I know exactly where we’ll stay!
Karin is a first Class host. When I arrived in the evening she was waiting for me by her garage to greet & show me to my camper. Karin made me feel welcome, and went out of her way to make sure I was comfortable. I will most likely book again this week. The mansion and the camper were impeccable. Thank you Karin.
“Hidden Gem” is an understatement! Bucolic views, manicured grounds, beautifully appointed rooms and the serenity of just being there. All beyond expectations! The staff amazingly goes about their day with hardly a notice and never item out of place. Karin is just a delight and is never far away to help. Peter was unfortunately away, but we will catch him the next time around. Being fellow BnB’rs, we truly appreciate well-kept and run properties. Everything was “spot on” especially the chocolate croissants. Well done!
Wonderful spot! Close to highways. Karin is an amazing host. She takes guest's feedback to continually improve. Quiet and comfortable with nice touches throughout.
I stayed at Whispering Oaks Mansion with my teenage daughter while we were traveling through Delaware on a road trip. My first impression was very positive. Karin was a clear communicator and very friendly. We arrived late, around 10. It would have been nice to use the restroom, wash up and go to bed, but there was only one restroom for four rooms, so we had to wait for another guest to finish showering. The word “mansion” brings certain images to mind, and while the house appeared quite large, the guest rooms we saw were in a finished basement with a drop ceiling and thin walls. We could hear conversations from other rooms. Our room was right below the staircase for the main part of the house and we could hear someone with a heavy footfall both at night and in the morning, along with their voice. I can’t imagine what it would have been like for the guests in the room right next to the bathroom because they would likely hear the traffic back and forth in front of their door, along with the noises from the bathroom. I can usually just close my eyes and I’m asleep, but it took me a little longer here because the pillow was so thin it felt like someone had folded a Kleenex in half and given that to me for my head. Using the restroom in the morning was a little awkward. I packed a pair of summer pajamas that I didn’t want to stumble out of my room wearing in front of some strangers. Unfortunately, that could not be avoided and at least I didn’t have to wait in a line at the bathroom door. Breakfast was adequate. I had a muffin, a cup of coffee and a banana. Several other guests who didn’t seem to know each other were sitting at the one round breakfast table where all the food was placed. I had to walk around the guests, reaching between them to access the food on the table and then I did my best to make small talk since that seemed to be what we were all doing to make the situation feel normal. One feature that really stood out were all of the promotional materials for the available add ons. This included romantic packages with rose petals, professional photography, foot baths and even hypnosis. Activities like tennis at the property were included. The tennis court consisted of a flat area of the yard that had been mowed very close to the ground with lines painted on. I did see two guests attempting a volley at 7 a.m. You have to acknowledge Karin’s impressive entrepreneurial spirit as her work in hospitality, possible life coaching, and being a YouTube influencer with expertise in child behavior are only her side hustle as she is also the principal of a top-performing elementary school! If you decide to stay here keep your expectations in line with what you would expect at an Airbnb with shared spaces. My suggestion would be to bring your own pillow, earplugs and pack modest pajamas.
We stayed last. What a great experience. We had so much fun.The owner was so sweet and made us feel so welcomed.. and to think it all off it was super clean..I really appreciate that. 10 out of 10 would definitely recommend!!
Beautiful home and property!! Amazing host! My fiancé and I stayed for 4 nights and I must say we enjoyed every moment of it! Thank you Karin for making sure our stay was comfortable and amazing!! I would highly recommend this beautiful gem over any hotel!!!!
Visited Whispering Oak for a spa package. The pictures are true ! Marble floors and cozy rooms. Thoroughly enjoyed my massage and foot detox. The room view was serene, watching the birds during my foot detox. Karin was warm and welcoming.

I joined Burn Boot Camp in Bear the day it opened. This gym is so supportive! It meets you at your level of fitness and helps you build from there. The modifications for each exercise allows you to work around injuries. I love how the entire staff
I've been a member at Crossfit Bear for the past 3 years. What started as a way to get in shape quickly morphed into a second home. Quinn isn't just a coach anymore, she's a friend. All of the coaches here are amazing. They are not only very talente
I've been climbing here semi-regularly for about a year. The staff is great, the courses change frequently enough to stay interesting (but last long enough to conquer a tricky course that bests you a few times), and there are lots of options to climb
Absolutely delicious tacos! This is one of my favorite places to eat around the area. I prefer to go out of my way to travel to this specific location if I'm in the mood for tacos, I actually pass by 4 taco food trucks to get to this one! The hot sa
Loved the authentic taste and the service was phenomenal! Wasn't too hungry the first visit but everything tasted so great that I had to come back for more, and the lady was great about helping pick and choose items to try out a variety of stuff. Def

It was our first time here and it was great! Our server was so nice and very friendly. Pad Thai was our favorite, Thai basil fried rice, not so much. It tasted .. off? Not like the kind I usually have. But they have a lot of other items that I'm exci
First time at this hibachi restaurant last night. We were a little dismayed when I called a few weeks earlier to make a reservation to find out that itâs all first come first service, and then we had to wait about an hour for our group of 7 to be s
Food was excellent. Service was quick & efficient. Server was nice & helpful. I had the cheese steak omelet & pancake. Both were very good. Cheese steak was tender. Checkout was easy. So glad I tried this place. I will be back!
Authentic. The best Ma Po Tofu of my life and Iâve tried a lot. Beef noodle soup is delish, heavy in the sesame oil which I love. And the chow fun is also delicious. Unsuspecting little hole in the wall joint, but very authentic and delicious. Donâ
