Whiskey Cake Kitchen & Bar - New American restaurant in Oklahoma City - 1845 Northwest Expy, USA

Pulling up and seeing an outdoor fireplace (and smelling the wood burning) is always a welcoming sight! Upon entering, the place is clean and adequately lit. Not too bright, not too dark. We sit and, within a minute, we were being served. We started with the garlic roasted hummus. This appetizer is decoratively presented and tasty (for those that enjoy hummus). The entrees were steak frités and the pork chops. To be picky, I'm never a fan of truffle fries and these were not crisp either. The steak was cooked as ordered and had good flavor. Definitely prepared with care. However, to our dismay, the pork (per our server) is only cooked medium. She took a chance on it though. The flavor was good on this as well, but she did have a bit of a tough time (mentally) trying to eat it because of the medium cook. She and I both loved her succotash. She like my truffle fries. I ordered an extra side too - white beans with blistered leaks and spinach. This was actually our combined favorite dish! Finally, she had to try the whiskey cake for her birthday. She thought it was "good". Our server, Zack/Zach, was extremely attentive without being overbearing or annoying. Spectacular service! Prices fit the higher quality selection. We would certainly recommend Whiskey Cake for a special night out!

I went here with my partner. We had an amazing time. In the beginning we were greeted with great personality’s and a warm atmosphere. We were seated diligently and were greatly pleased with the ambience of our table. There was only one issue that came about from our night. It took almost 10 minutes for someone to come over and talk to us about anything regarding the menu or getting us something to drink; however, the wait was definitely worth it. A man by the name of Brian came over and introduced himself as our waiter and apologized excessively and explained there was an issue with payment with another group of customers. Throughout the night Brian was very polite, charismatic, and knowledgeable. He not only gave advice on certain dishes he even brought laughter and enjoyment to our table. If there was an issue he solved it quick and efficiently. He made sure our glasses were full and our stomachs the same way. The dishes he advised us on were a very important part of our experience. Even though he didn’t make our dishes with his hands he definitely understood each and everything that went into our meal, and ways to spice them up in an enjoyable way. Throughout our dinning experience everything was excellent after the first slight error. To Brian our waiter: Outstanding customer service and great personality, easily one of the best waiters I have ever encountered. Thank you for an enjoyable evening.

My second time eating at Whiskey Cake, the first being in the Houston area several years ago. Food was incredible. Waitress was both personable and informative about the menu. Atmosphere is just fantastic. Only complaint was that we were sat at a high top table close to the entrance. My family enjoyed the chicken meatballs with hummus, roasted chicken, burger, mac and cheese and of course... whiskey cake. All good stuff, but the cake is worth the trip. Enjoy!

Wow 😲 everything was so tasty. Our server Max was awesome, kudos to him for going above and beyond. It was busy, he was hustling yet every time he came to our table he managed to create a relaxed vibe. Quick service but never felt rushed. A pro. We tried the goat cheese fondue, pork chop, salmon, and cake. Wins all around. Loved the local bread and cheese, it was the juiciest pork chop I've ever had hands down and the beans that are served with the salmon are so good I want the recipe! Perfectly designed bite with the crispy salmon and savory beans. Oh, we also loved the hostess (we visited evening 11/9 didn't catch her name)🤓 she was very exuberant and friendly. Fun to watch the bartenders and cooks, who were obviously very skilled, in the open setting. Thanks again we will be back. I would give y'all an extra star if I could⭐✨

Our first time experience was fantastic. The ambience was so pleasant and welcoming. Our server is amazing and he recommended couple of dishes to try and they are delicious. Our favourite was chicken meat balls and it’s a must try! Edamame was really good too. Coming to deserts whisky cake is amazing and it lusciously melted in our mouth. An amazing experience and will go back soon.

Love our entire experience! The atmosphere was really comfortable. The waitress was completely on top of every detail, perfectly timed ordering and food delivery, never had to ask for a refill, just outstanding! The options for people with food restrictions was pretty impressive! The food...my goodness it... was phenomenal! Best meal I've had in a long time! Worth every penny!

For those not afraid to explore new and unique food combinations this is the place to go. The ambience is intimate, especially at night. It has a fun, hip feel to it. Super friendly and accommodating staff. Food was exceptional! We tried the deviled eggs and flash-fried brussel sprouts which were both unique and tasty. Had the hot hen sandwich which had two giant chicken breasts deep fried and spicy. Delicious! Can't wait to return.

This was an amazing restaurant!! Everything we tried was great. I especially like the shrimp and grits. The dessert was to die for, very moist, extremely sweet and delicious. I like the idea of fresh herbs and farm to table especially when it tastes this good. The wait staff was excellent and kept our drinks full as well as offered us drinks to go. I couldn't have been happier with this choice of restaurants while visiting Oklahoma city. I would go back in a heartbeat
