WhatchamaCAKES - Cafe in Kendallville - 201 S Main St, USA

Oddly this place was empty when we went and I can’t understand why?!?!? The place was out of the way for us but gave it a try and it was totally worth it! The atmosphere is interesting. It’s inviting, people are in the back working on baked goods, there’s a library of books to look through. Very cute little place to stop for a snack and actually hang out to chat with some friends. I can honestly see it as a great place for a book club meeting or a Stitch’n’Botch. The baked goods were delicious. We had a cupcake, cookie and slice of cake. All were a pleasant combination of flavors and ingredients. Both our coffees were really good as well. We have no complaints and plan to go well off our normal path to visit again.

This place is such a lovely little neighborhood coffee and cake shop. The coffee was just as incredible as the customer service. Everything here was great! I ordered a cake cup and a raspberry frappuccino and it blew me away with the intense flavor. Overall I loved this place and everything in it. Thank you so much!

The place was very cute but the staff were rude. They seemed almost bothered we were even there. Then super nice to the next customers because they knew them.

We hired Lisa to make cookies and a cake for our wedding. She delivered everything with plenty of time to spare, which was really wonderful. The cookies were beautifully done and delicious. The cake was so beautifully decorated, exactly as we had asked, but unfortunately, both flavors (each tier was a different flavor) were less than appetizing, and one of the flavors was literally inedible. I don’t know about you, but when I get a wedding cake, I want everything about it to be great. What’s odd is that we tasted cupcakes in each flavor, and they were good. We told her about our experience, and she apologized, but did nothing to try and make it right. This was by far the worst wedding cake I’ve ever tasted. Will at least make for good stories in the future. Not sure I would patronize this business again…something about one bad apple.

I love that I can walk in and they ask me: “small raspberry chai?” Absolutely! Add a Saucy Bob with garlic butter and sausage, please!!! Definitely a favourite of mine! Thanks for the great service!!!

Absolutely wonderful shop, she was very kind and pleasant and the food was delicious!

Order Nitro Brew with oat milk and vanilla when I got it it was less than half full no oat milk and no vanilla so I get back in line and they say okay we'll give you one for free so I ordered Americana with oat milk and vanilla and they used regular milk and I can't have milk didn't realize until I drank half of it. It made me sick. Now this was my first visit very disappointed because I payed 6.32 for a coffee that made me sick

I always love coming into this shop. The staff is extremely kid friendly and so helpful when making decisions. The addition of books is absolutely wonderful. I'll be back!
