The hotel is located close to the city centre and it’s easy to find it. It has a parking lot in front so you have space to park your car. The room we stayed in was spacious, clean and cozy. The furniture was not the newest but it was in a good condition. The bathroom was also clean. The breakfast was ok, nothing special, so don’t have expectations in this regard. Staff is nice and friendly.

Rooms were not clean, especially the tub and shower curtains. Pretty run down. Carpets have duct tape to cover up rips. For the most part front desk wasn’t very friendly; Emily was dismissive. Great location. Breakfast was not good but plenty of coffee shops and restaurants around.

The hotel is close to everything and the staff on the front desk and restaurant are awesome. Emily and Adam knock it out of the park when it comes to service. Her attentions and his long island ice tea made the entire stay so much better.

This hotel was such a disappointment. I read all the negative reviews ahead of the cruise but decided to make my own assessment. The hotel needs a major overhaul. The rugs throughout the hotel are stained and worn. The rug in our room was so dirty and stained I didn't want to walk on it without shoes. The bathroom was dirty as was the room. There was debris left from previous people. The food was terrible and expensive. The only positive was the staff. They tried as best they could with what they have. I still don't understand how Holland America can let their hotels be in such disrepair when their cruise shops are amazing. Maybe the land rooms are assigned according to your ship room. We were in a suite on the ship. If that is the case, I can't imagine what the other rooms looked like. The bed was uncomfortable and squeaky.

Walked in and was greeted right away! Stayed at the north tower.. rooms were amazingly comfortable and clean. I accidentally demagnetized my key with my phones MagSafe case but was able to get that fixed away with the friendly front desk staff. The breakfast was ok. Not much options but it will do for a morning meal. Overall great stay and awesome service!!,

If you have a service animal do NOT stay here. The security people will lie and say your service dog "attacked guests" and the front desk manager will kick you out while breaking the law asking for proof that your service animal is light. Then when calling and talking to the general manager he can't show video proof that said service animal attacked anyone. Don't stay here. Also cable sucks doesn't work well. Poor water pressure and temperature. Also the breakfast and coffee is not the greatest. Staff and managers are rude and dishonest. I was very disappointed. I recommend staying at La Quinta in Fairbanks. Great staff and comfy beds showers are amazing. The breakfast is filling and coffee choices are awesome. Service Animal friendly along with cat and dog friendly. No accusations and rude comments from staff.

As other reviews have mentioned there are 2 buildings. One is old and gross (see pictures) and the other is a little more updated. The cruise lines use this hotel and you can tell it gets beat up. After seeing reviews I asked when checking in to be in the newer building but apparently they were booked up. We went to our assigned room in the other building and it was gross. Stains everywhere, gross carpet, gross bathroom. I was not going to stay there so I went down and told them to either refund me and I’ll stay somewhere else or put me in the other building. Now they had an available room… it was good enough to stay at but after my experience I would never stay or recommend this hotel again. Stay elsewhere.

We went to a company dinner in the Gold room. The food was awful. The vegan meal consisted of flavorless gloppy quinoa with veggies (dumped out from a package). Pasty gruel. The appetizers were cubed cheese, dips and bbq pizza. The dessert was cupcakes 2 flavors, chocolate and vanilla. Meh.
