Western Twelve Oaks Motel - Featured Reviews (66)
Nope. Never again. Stayed for what should have been a week or more. Lasted 1 day. Be wary of the bed bugs. Got a triple bite on my right leg. You'd do better going across the loop to the Holiday or even the Quality, which is what I did
My experience has always been pretty fair up until I had a housekeeper just walk into the room unannounced... No knock, or Housekeeping, etc) They refused me a room the last time I tried to purchase. It's ok I don't want them roaches in my purses anyways..
We could not stay elsewhere during power outage because everything was full in towy. Bed was awful. Pillows complex flat and old. Sheets had holes. Carpet seemed wet. NO
We stayed in this motel for 4 nights while moving our daughter to Carthage. There we no rooms at the Best Western and only "smoking" rooms available at the Holiday Inn Express at a heavy price, otherwise we would probably not have stayed here more than the 1 night. The rooms are old and dark to say the least. They smell quite musty (my husband thought it might be the cleaning supplies they used, but I think it was just an "old motel" musty smell). We ended up getting some Fabreeze to help the room's aroma and that helped make it more tolerable. I can't say the room was dirty, but it was just kind of dingy due to it's age. The towels were almost paper thin and small and shampoo and soap were the very bottom quality. We did not use the shampoo because of that reason. The mattresses and bedding are of very poor quality or simply worn out. When we first arrived, the light between the beds would not work as the switch was broken. We told the front desk and after we returned from dinner, it was working so this was a positive point. Parking is right outside your doorway as all the rooms have exterior doors. They have a minimal continental breakfast (honey buns in invidual packages, 2 kinds of cereal, toast, juice and coffee). We didn't spend much time in our room, so the agedness of the motel was tolerable and the rates were low. You get what you pay for in this case, but if you're looking for a cheap place to stay and you're not fussy, this is the place for you.|
My family is from Carthage Tx and they always stay at Western 12 Oaks so I was advised to book a room there. REDFLAG 1, when I called to make reservation she only asked for first name last name, and no card information to hold the room so the whole ride there I was very concerned about my reservation. Wondering if it was properly taken and if I would even have a room. When we arrived to the hotel it was run down, parking lot was full of trash a debris, people was standing outside smoking, and the lobby was simply DISGUSTING!! I checked into my room at 2 AM, IT WAS SCORCING HOT, the A/C didn't work, the room had a HORRIBLE smell, there were bugs on the vanity, in the toilet, and crawling about. The door wouldn't lock and it was missing the dead bolt... it looked like someone had broke into the room on a few different occasions. I went to the store purchased some disinfectant spray, cover, and blankets to ensure that I didn't catch anything in the filthy hotel, the bed was yucky and the pillows where untouchable so I kicked them off the bed they had yellow stains and cigar rete burns on the pillows and cover even though my room was none smoking. I checked out the very next day at 7am and was called by the owner Yogi who insinuated that I had stolen the bed spread from the bed. WOW, I was shocked an insulted by his accusations and immediately returned to the room to show them the type of flit they had me and my family sleeping in. Yogi then went on to say that I didn't have to stay at his hotel. If you want bed bugs stay here, if you want to be eaten alive by insects stay here, if you can handle urine on the toilets, brown water from sink and tub, waterstained tissue, FILT, and rude customer service stay here.., This was the worst experience ever and this hotel needs to be closed down permanently. Theres a Quality Inn and a Baymont Inn directly across the street and they both offer a continental breakfast and WIFI. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!
Such a good hotel!!! The owners are absolutely the nicest people ever!!! We have a bad 3 year old, 11 yr old and a 1 yr old. They are so kind and considerate about the toddler being a toddler!!! The people below us are very considerate also of my kids jumping around like little crazies...lol they do such a good job on making sure we're well taken care of and have everything we need. The housekeeper actually brought us tamales today!!! They were the best!! I'm Comfy here, As is my family. I will definitely stay here anytime I'm in Carthage...won't even waste my time going anywhere else. Keep up the good work!!! Everyone keep doing what you're doing!!! Thanks again for having us and making us feel so welcome and at home!!!! Much appreciated!!!
It's a decent motel if you're working locally and trying to save money. Unfortunately the room I stayed in had what I believe to be "bedbugs". I woke up with bumps and scratch marks on my body from where I had been scratching the bites in my sleep. I told the manager about it but he insisted that he had no bedbugs and he didn't even seem one bit concerned that I got ate up by bugs the night before. Like I said it's a decent room for working out of if you don't get one with bedbugs in it.
OMG!!!! Out of all the hotels I've stayed in this was by far the worst! The room smelled horrible, televisions were out dated and there were bugs in the room. Not to forget the stains on the bed sheets and floor, thank God we hadtaken our own sheets and blankets.
