This hotel did everything it was supposed to do. It gave us a place to sleep and shower. I wasn’t expecting a classy hotel, but we paid $230 to stay at this place due to its location, and it definitely wasn’t because it was nice. The guy working was very friendly; it just seemed a little too laid back. The guy didn’t write any info on our room card, so we had to double check we were going to the correct room, and then had nowhere to drop off the key in the morning since their office isn’t staffed so we slid it through the lobby door. When we came into our room it was pretty hot from the ac being left off, so it took about an hour before it got to be a comfortable temperature. There’s no breakfast at the time I’m writing this. The pool seemed very nice!! Again, the proximity to the park is super convenient. It was about a 10-15 min drive to the entrance of Sequoia. I’d personally be more willing to pay extra to stay at the nicer hotel down the road next time.
The room was clean and the bed was fine. BUT when I arrived the temperature outside was 101 degrees and the room I was given on the second floor (with no elevator) had windows wide open, no A/C running. I immediately turned on the A/C unit, unfortunately the unit took hours and hours to cool the room. I was told not to turn the unit below 70 degrees, and there was a paper taped to the unit stating I WOULD BE CHARGED $25 EXTRA PER DAY if the unit is on while not in the room. WHAT???? ALSO THERE IS NO DEADBOLT ON THE INSIDE TO SECURE YOURSELF SAFELY IN THE ROOM! Any maintenance person or employee has free run into your room while you're in it! Not okay, especially if you are a solo woman like I was. Owner please note that it takes more electricity to compensate for a 30 degree temperature difference than if you would just leave it at say 80 degrees ALL THE TIME. Clean- yes ✔️ Staff- polite ✔️ Bring your own fan! They only had one to spare and it was for the front office.
No xtra charge for running the AC while you are gone, shower temp was either freezing or boiling hot. Bed was like sleeping on a cardboard box. General grimey feel. Breakfast was toast and the nastiest coffee I’ve ever had. Price gouging due to the location to the national parks, pay a little extra and stay at the comfort inn down the street. As soon as I walked in I was looking for other available hotels.
My friend booked this hotel through a vacation club and when we drove up, looked OK. We checked in and had room 10. When we opened the door, that was enough. The pergo floor was separating, and there were 1/2 inch gaps in many places. The edges were sharp, so if you got up in the middle of the night and hit the spot wrong, you could potentially get cut. There were bugs in the room, it had a musty smell, there was a VERY small AC unit that didn't work very well, the fridge kept things cool, not cold. The room didn't feel clean, but there appeared to be black mold growing up from the baseboard in 2 different places. We requested a change of rooms but could not be accommodated. They advertised free breakfast, but there was nothing. The next day, they were able to give us a different room and it was pretty nice. But do NOT stay in room 10. It's the one that faces an outdoor staircase. And don't expect breakfast.
The bed was comfortable and the room had a nice sized mini fridge. We wish they would offer breakfast but otherwise we had a nice stay. If you’re going to Sequoia National Park you will have a long winding drive to the main areas of the park. The visitor center is about 20 minutes from the hotel and another 30-40 minutes to the Sequoias and main hiking areas.
Horrible Customer service. We stayed 3 nights and called every day for trash pick up. It was horrible the way no one cares. No one picks up the phone and if anyone did, no one comes to service. We stayed with our kids and an infant and there were bugs. Worst motel I have ever been too. Forget getting clean towels or room service every day. No one picks up the trash. They need to shut this place down.
I was there last night. Beautiful place. But this hotel is huge NO I had call them minutes before I arrived, when I came and got the room she charged $70 way more then what she had agree on the phone & because I don't own a vehicle I had no other choice then give her the money without saying anything because i didn't wanted to be left stranded with no place to be over nigh. So $300 for 1night. Also bathtub was absolutely nasty I wish I had taken pics and coffee machine wasn't cleaned or even emptied from last people. Also lady at desk isn't the friendliest, I don't see how they still have business You're better of with going to a camping
We stayed here on our honeymoon and loved it. Quaint town, it was quiet, super close to Sequoia, and good places to eat nearby. The room wasn't fancy so if you are looking for that this isn't the place for you. It was a little small but if you're willing to pay more they have bigger rooms. The pool was a little cool but it was September so I guess they might not heat it much depending on the weather. They had a nice selection of videos you could borrow and we actually stayed two nights instead of one because we liked it so much. I highly recommend. We didn't have any issues.
This is a nice area. I went here and was satisfied with my experience. This is a grove filled with sequoia trees and there are numerous hiking trails that go through these groves. Thereâs also a visitor center here with exhibits about sequoia trees
This place is simply wonderful. The location is fantastic, the service is superb, and the rooms and cabins are cute and cozy. Stayed here for the second time, a year after the first. We were in the Hummingbird cabin this time, which is a perfect cabi
Gorgeous mountain views the sound of the river flowing downstream was so relaxing. Make sure you wear comfortable shoes for the walk. Parking is limited.
The very first stop at the Sequoia National Park is the Tunnel Rock. Tunnel Rock is a giant flat granite rock that has been dug and transformed into a tunnel. In the past cars could be driven through the tunnel, not anymore though. But you can walk u
Great local place next to the river. You can watch the rafters float by while having your meal. Super friendly staff. I had breakfast and my eggs were perfect. A simple but rare feat. Definitely go when in the area.
Excellent! Service was absolutely great! Food was so good, the pub style fish & chips were amazing & the haymaker burger was great, both of the girls who waited on us were super friendly & right on the ball!! The chili is absolutely exceptional, s
