We were on a vacation and decided to stop one night in Hood River. Google reviews led me to Westcliff Lodge. People spoke of the beautiful property, clean remodeled rooms and friendly staff. That's all right on. It was off season early September and we got a very favorable rate for a 2 queen river view balcony. It's nuts what you get for your money with this room. Huge panoramic views of the river and hills across. If you have binoculars you should bring them as there is so much to see on this big river. We sat on our balcony and despite some background freeway noise it was serene. On top of it, our room is spacious and immaculately clean. Everything works...including the TV remote. And just so I hit all the comments....the grounds have been done by someone who knows how to do it. Beautiful and long established....also visible from your balcony. I am not sure we will ever find ourselves in Hood River again but this is the first place I would look at.
Westcliff Lodge is a great place to stay. We loved the two story building on the river. The bed was comfortable and loved the full size refrigerator and also the large windows where you could see the river. The flowers were so pretty and the view was fantastic. We enjoyed the outside sitting area where we played cards in the evening. The staff were great about giving recommendations both of where to eat and what to see in the area.
We loved our river view king room with kitchenette. It had everything we needed and came at an amazing price. You are in a quieter part of town, but it has the BEST views and amazing nature vibes around the property! They have chairs/tables etc. so you can enjoy the outdoors at this property! You are just a 5 minute drive or less away from anything else! Would 100% stay here again.
Great location, nice rooms. Beautiful gardens with lots of flowers.
Rooms are spacious and nice looking. Not great curb appeal when you drive in, but the hotel is nice when you explore the interior. Hard pillows and hard bed though :(.
Bring a mosquito repellent if planned to be outside. Which I recomend to watch the sunset, sipping some wine from the back garden.
Second floor not recommended if you have toddlers.
Excellent stay here for 2 days while visiting the area. Loved the extra large room and are so happy we "splurged" on a river view balcony room. It was a great place to relax after a day of activity. Easy access to Hood River also.
Positive: The room and bathrooms were large. The beds were comfortable. In the back was a spectacular view with terraced gardens. Negative: From the curb the front looked dated. After entering the facilities the rooms were spacious and the grounds overlooking the Columbia River were spectacular.
Loved our overnight stay here and my only disappointment was not staying for longer. Summer camp vibes with gorgeous views, beautiful landscaping, and comfortable rooms. Staff was friendly and it definitely felt like a family business run with care. Close proximity to downtown Hood River.
Would definitely recommend to friends and return in the future for a longer stay!
I selected this location because of the view out the window and the property having a short walking trail along the cliff. This was a trip for my husband, who has stage 4 cancer, and I knew his fatigue would keep him in the room quite a bit, so I wanted the room and grounds to be enough of a destination for us to really enjoy the time. Westcliff exceeded my every hope! The view out the window was stunning, captivating as we watched kite surfers on the river and birds in the trees using the binoculars they provided. The flowers everywhere were so beautiful that it was a special joy just to sit in a deck chair and relax. The woman who tends the flower beds has a true talent and has achieved arboretum level Landscaping!
The cleaning staff were excellent and worked around our schedule. Having the kitchenette, which was really a full kitchen, was a huge help so we could eat his special diet and not have to leave the room.
And Hood River is small enough to be easy and quick to get around, but had lots of great shops and restaurants, and was less than 45 minutes drive from all of the waterfall and Mt. Hood locations we wanted to see.
I highly recommend Westcliff Lodge and plan to return.
Great place! Clean rooms with a modern vibe. I appreciate the convenience of being able to get right in to the room without having to deal with checkin. Some people mentioned road noise but we slept until 8:00 one day which has probably never happene
A very enjoyable stay and a great property. I stayed two nights, and the staff here are very customer service oriented. Tina at the front desk was the highlight of my stay, assisting me with questions before I had even arrived at the hotel. Upon arri
My husband and I decided to stay at the Best Western and after checking in, we knew we made the right choice of choosing the best Western. It is in a great location and has an on-site bar/lounge and resturant. Kimi in the lounge is spectacular. Her s
Love this place! After staying at the Hood River Hotel and having an absolute terrible nights sleep, I booked a night here and Meredith did everything to make our stay wonderful. We brought our new puppy and they even gave him a welcome gift with a
Killer street tacos! These are so authentic you'll feel like you're in Mexican beach town, and they won't break the bank either! The adobada, carne asada, and pork carnitas are excellent.
Best breakfast sandwich I have had In a very long time, hands down. Golden Goods sweeps you into an inviting space, with fresh baked aromas, and smiling faces. Don't miss out on a stop at Golden Goods, your mind and body with thank you!

Surprising little gem of a brew pub. Small tap list focused more on German style beers. Friendly service. Freshnet Helles was very good, Kolsch beer as well. Worth a visit.
We had our wedding at the Ruins on 8/5/23 and it was an amazing experience! Ryan and Elody were great to work with leading up to the day and Michael was a great bartender for the evening - very friendly and personable! The ruins is a beautiful venue
Kelsey just sold me a running experience in the form of a running shoe. My daughter told me that this place is awesome and I totally agree. Sorry Jeff Bezos...I am coming here for future purchases.
This is our second time visiting the highway. And a second time doing it on E bikes. It is a wonderful ride. A combination of hikers and bicyclists. The road is wide and well taken care of. I am sure you could easily hike or ride a regular bike as we
This place should not be allowed. Too beautiful and too tasty. Ridiculous view of Mount Hood and Mount Adams. Gorgeous wine lodge. Fabulous gardens, vineyards and flowers. You will love this with all the family. Dogs welcome. Plenty of space. EV c
