It wasn’t what i was expecting but i really liked it. I was thinking manicured gardens of different styles but this was much more natural- like a nature trail with lots if native planting and natural habitats. It was lightly raining during our visit but the tree canopy kept us dry. Definitely glad we visited.
Beautiful settings for fabulous trails! An employee who I encountered just off the parking lot gave me a brief history and status of the gardens. He was super nice! I thoroughly enjoyed exploring most of the trails.
Beautiful grounds. Lots of options for paths to walk, or even get some trail running in. Very calm and peaceful and quiet. Absolutely love the hammock section, too. Could spend hours just laying, taking it all in. Would absolutely visit frequently if I lived in the area.
Before visiting the botanical garden, we thought it was a relatively small botanical garden, but it is quite large. It's more like a system of natural trails and some curated plants. It's a great place for a walk and bringing your pets with you.
A lovely little place for outdoor adventure. Theres a lot of trails winding their way through the property. We went on a perfect day after a fresh morning rain with a slightly overcast sky, which made the hike enjoyable. I think we hit almost every single trail. If you like a quiet get away that cost you nothing this is a hidden gem
Leaves were beautiful, but I can't fairly review a botanical garden in the "off" season. I'll go back in the spring. Trails were wide, flat and well maintained. Some interesting history here as well if you stop to read the signs.
Love this place! Beautiful scenery. Lots of clear walking pathes. The fairy gardens are really neat. The kids park is clean and a great place for the kidos to enjoy themselves. Lots of beautiful plants and flowers. Just an all around beautiful place.
We were so excited to visit the West Virginia Botanic Garden while passing through from PA to our hometown of Clarksburg. Did you know there is an area called “The Secret Garden” here? It is an amazing area of the gardens that makes you want to just curl up in a lounge chair and read. Stones path liners, plants in all directions….off by itself in its own little world. Truly a beautiful place! The gardens are a lovely place to visit.
