West Cornwall Covered Bridge - Bridge in West Cornwall - Housatonic River, Connecticut, USA

Covered bridges are timber-truss bridges with a roof, decking, and siding that protect the bridge's wooden structural members from the weather. The cover protects the bridge from rain, snow, and sun, which can extend its lifespan. This one is beautifully preserved.

Beautiful bridge and it was easy to get pictures as it wasn't very crowded. The surrounding town is quaint and lovely.

What a beautiful covered bridge you could drive through. If you get out, you might wish you had bug spray. On the day we went, there were gnats.

Beautiful bridge on Housatonic River. Parking is on both sides of the bridge. Route 7 goes adjacent to the river, and it is very scenic. One of Three Historic Bridges in CT 1. First time there (10/18/20) just to see the bridge and we really enjoyed our afternoon. Brought my in-laws and they loved it. The colors of the leaves was amazing to see & the bridge is really beautiful. Interesting to see aomething that we don't get to see here in the city.

If you have never been here you have to go..the covered bridge is so beautiful! The entire West Cornwall is a sight to see..the farmers market brings all the locals..sometimes even a fiddle or two! ❤️

A must stop on the scenic drive on Rt 7. Historical covered bridge is still sturdy enough to drive in and drive over. The surrounding views are stunning. Now (Oct 16,2020) the foliage has reached its peak. Even during a heavily rainy day, the view can take your breath away. I imagine if it’s a sunny day, the view can be die for.

Beautiful small place. Well worth visiting.
