While my son, his wife and their son were in town over the holidays, we stopped at Wendell August hoping for a tour for my grandson. One of the employees, Laurie, spotted us and offered to show us around. She was AMAZING!!! She engaged with my 12 year old grandson with such kindness, knowledge, thoughtfulness and encouragement, even letting him hammer out a souvenir to take home with him. We all agreed that our time there was an absolutely wonderful experience thanks to Laurie! We also purchased some beautiful items from among the huge selection of gorgeous, hand crafted, wares. Thanks Wendell August, and especially Laurie! We look forward to coming back soon!

The staff was friendly and helpful. They answered all my questions and pointed me in the right direction. I was able to get the last items off my Christmas list with their help.

My stepdad's family, who are from Grove City originally, have always loved this company. When my mom and I moved to Pittsburgh, the very first thing they did was get us a Wendell August ornament to welcome us to the family - a tradition that now carries through every major life event for my family and friends, and a tradition I was proud to share with my partner during our first holiday season together. We had the pleasure of touring the forge this past weekend, one of the owners, Nick, gave us a personal tour 10 minutes before they closed, after he heard what their pieces meant to my family. The love, care and craftmanship in each piece is so clearly evident, and is unique while still showcasing what Pittsburgh is all about. They are a true, family oriented, hardworking, and talented business, I cannot recommend them enough.

Ordered a cross for my anniversary and they did a swell job. I used to live in Grove City and met employees, it is a great company with great people. The company is not only making products in the US but has tons of local history. You can watch them make stuff inside. Very happy with my cross as well as tons of other stuff I've purchased there.

My experience with Wendell August was frankly disappointing. While the product they create is quite nice, the customer service is quite honestly terrible. My company’s order (a large order of gifts for retiring employees) was cut with the incorrect image. I went about fixing it, and was promised a solution by January of this year. However, the customer service representative that was helping me never sent a shipping label, never sent a box, and never responded to any of my countless emails. After reaching out to the company several times since then, it is now March and we have yet to come to a solution or even hear back at all. This is exceptionally bad customer service - we paid a large amount of money for employee gifts, and they refuse to fix their mistake. They kept our money and will not send correctly cut items. This is terrible business practice, and should be reported to the BBB. If you’re looking to place a custom order, look elsewhere - it won’t end well.

So beautiful place every thing is a work of art

Wendell August is a unique place. Their Christmas ornaments are all amazing. We have been collecting them since we bought our house. We also have a few platters and other decorations around the house. We have slowly been replacing our light and plug switch plate covers. The last few times we have been there they haven't had a good selection of them. I hope that they start to get them back in stock!
