It's a great place to hike the trails and see the estuary. It's well worth the small entry fee. $6 for adults, kids are cheaper, and five and under are free; they take cash CC, Venmo, Square Pay, and other electronic payment types. Claire, the entry woman, was charming to talk with while explaining all the reserve details. She was happy to answer all of our questions. They sell some bug spray. It's best to bring your own. Lovely science and art exhibits, along with other events, can be found here throughout the year. It's a fantastic place to enjoy a spring, summer, or fall sunny day.
We visited the reserve to take the beach trail, but the farmhouse and outbuildings were really cool as well. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The beach trail is an easy 10-15 minute walk to a beautiful public beach. The beach wasn't crowded at all, and we enjoyed photographing the shore birds. There were lots of mosquitoes along the trail, but the offshore wind kept them away at the beach itself.
Gorgeous property. I suppose the trails are great but we didn't use them. We were expecting something more "science-y". Perhaps because it was early October & things were winding down but the self guided exploration of buildings left me with a less than neutral feeling. And there was a fee for entry.
Laudholm beach was incredible. Words will do it no fair amount of justice. Great place to see piping plovers skittering around too😂
Informational, beautiful, and fun! I stopped by with my husband and enjoyed a lovely walk through the many easy-to-traverse trails. The trails cover different areas within the reserve, and have interesting placards explaining fun tidbits of information about the kinds of tress and wildlife, as well as the cycles and ecology of the forest. It would make for a lovely trip for those with children, as the paths are easy to traverse, long enough to enjoy but not so long as to be tiring, and the information posted is phrased in a way to make it easy to understand for any age audience. The trails were for the large part flat and wide enough to be disability friendly, and the parking area was big enough to accommodate a decently sized crowd or a van with mobility assist lifts. Some advice however- be sure to wear some bug spray if you’ll be coming in the dead of summer, as there are simply tons of mosquitoes by the waterside!
This is a beautiful and convenient park to enjoy unique habitats and wildlife within close proximity to Wells and Ogunquit. The paths are generally fairly quiet and the raised walkways and outlook spots offer great ways to explore the perimeter of the salt marsh habitat.
This is a wonderful place to walk round and experience a salt water estuary and undeveloped Maine beach. Great birdwatching. We saw an American Avocet, Great Heron and Willet at mid-day. We will be returning for an early morning bird watch. The educational center, store and museum were closed due to the COVID pandemic, but the flora and fauna were enough to make for a great day trip. Walk to the beach is about a half mile so pack light. Green-head biting flies were out in numbers in early July. Wear bug spray.
Such an absolutely beautiful place. We had our wedding in the barn in October and we couldn't have asked for a better venue. Tracy and the rest of the team were absolutely fantastic to work with and we had such a beautiful time. Highly recommend not just for weddings/special events - but also just walking the reserve was absolutely beautiful.

I booked online but arrived at 11:30 due to a flight delay. They were waiting for me with a key and the giant king bed was super comfortable! Will come again when I have more time to explore the local area.
I have been going to Bo-Mar Hall since I was a little kid. My father, being an antique collector, still loves this place to this day. I now bring my daughter here and it's just like I remember it 30 years ago. There are always new items to see and us

On a weekend when wait times were often more than an hour, this restaurant was such a welcomed reprieve. Large garden with a live band and a walk up bar, so you don't feel like you're waiting at all. We took a first available table, which was indoors
