Wayside Inn - Hotel in Carmel-By-The-Sea - Mission St &, 7th Ave, USA

My best friend and I celebrated our 40th’s here. The grounds were gorgeous. The room was beyond perfect. The location was amazing. The staff was so kind and helpful. I’m so glad we found this place. We’ve stayed so many times and at different places. This will definitely be our new go-to!

We were pleasantly surprised with this stay. The room was comfortable, amenities are great. The location is very central with walking distance to coffee and shopping yet the room was very quiet. Will stay again.

The Wayside is located within walking distance of the shops, restaurants, bars, wine tasting rooms, and the Sunset Center. We really enjoyed our stay. Staff is very good, and check-in was efficient and friendly. Room was very clean with nice amenities. Only drawback was our room (12) was a bit noisy very early in the morning due to delivery truck traffic and the hotel office and lobby are right below. We'd stay again if we had a different room.

Not good,||I booked and paid a month prior to our stay. I requested a room on the first floor (due to health issues) and a room for 3 adults. I was told no problem. In past stays there were rooms with a sofa that made into a bed and I told them the room I wanted with a small terrace. (Which I had stayed in before).||When I arrived I was told my room was on the second floor and they said they don’t have a sofa that makes into a bed. I had no choice but to get a second room….and that was on the second floor.||My hotel cost was originally $1800 now ended costing me over &3000. Not a good start for my stay in Carmel! They said I booked through Expedia and I told them I was told when I called I was talking to the hotel. Not a good partnership and not customer friendly or helpful.

Wonderful, magical, clean, great location. We loved this Inn. We could walk to the beach and to all the great shopping. The beds were luxurious. The grounds were beautiful. We will be back!

We’ve stayed at the Wayside Inn several times and it has always been a wonderful experience. Starting with a great location just one block off Ocean Avenue, to the nice people at the front desk, nice lobby, the ample parking, very nice rooms (we had a wonderful fireplace), it was just perfect.||We’ve stayed at many other hotels in the downtown area and the Wayside Inn is by far the nicest.

No maid service, unapologetic staff, very high price ($450/night) for an old, dated room. Rest of our party staid at the Cypress Inn for $75 more per night had had far superior accommodations with maid service, clean towels, etc. location and was good but severely overpriced for two star accommodations

Beautiful and clean rooms with excellent location, Great staff! Loved the afternoon cookies and beverages offered. Will be a repeat customer!
