Wave Street Inn - Hotel in Monterey - 571 Wave St, USA

We had a great stay at Wave Street Inn! From start to finish Christine, Carol and Jon were fantastic. The location is perfect right in the middle of Cannery Row and 10 minute walk to the wharf. Our room had an incredible view of the ocean and everything was clean and comfortable. If you’re a light sleeper, it gets a bit noisy in the morning, but overall very tolerable

Location is fantastic. A short walk to aquarium, shops, restaurants, only a 10-15 walk along the water to the wharf/downtown. Room is as expected for an inn, but decor is modern. The issue is that it is an older inn so sound travels. We can hear footsteps above and they were quite loud. We live in a condo normally so we are understanding of sound travel but this was quite loud and I don't think they were stomping around. It is not a big issue (the noise was only in evenings and we were out most of the time) but best to know beforehand. This was a great place for first time visitors to Monterey and for families. Again, location is the best (there are other hotels nearby that are much more expensive). Parking is $17 a day.

We stayed here for a three day weekend. The best part of the inn was the location. It's an easy walk to Cannery Row and the aquarium. The staff were nice and friendly. Overall it was a great place to stay with updated modern rooms. We also loved the fire pits. However, we did have one issue. After taking showers one evening our bathtub backed up from the drain. We plugged it and it stopped it for awhile until it started coming out of the overflow. I dialed 0 in the middle of the night to let them know what was going on and the guy who answered had no solution. He didn't even attempt to call anyone or offer to let us switch rooms. We just had to hope it didn't overflow while we were sleeping. By the time morning rolled around the tub was almost overflowing. Thankfully we were checking out that day. The front desk staff did give us a discount, but it sounded like this was an ongoing problem with two rooms. So I just think if it is, why have these rooms available? I understand that places have issues, but don't rent the rooms out until they are fixed. Other than that the trip was great! I would stay here again just for the location alone, but make sure I request a different room number.

Wonderful hotel just one block from Cannery Row! We were able to easily walk to the aquarium, fisherman's wharf, and check out nearby restaurants. Carol at the front desk was so sweet and gave great recommendations too! Will definitely be coming back!

A very standard inn. Room was spotlessly clean and bed was comfortable, reception staff were great and helpful. However even our top floor room was gloomy and really noisy - aircon sounded like a train, walls paper thin, decor dark and dated, holes in the curtains. water pressure weak, facilities basic. Outside were fire pits / seating with a campsite feel but there are no internal communal spaces or dining on site. An average room for a premium price, with parking on top of that.

Very clean, close to all. Nice place for breakfast down the hill. If you want to save money go to deli. Its to the right facing ocean from hotel. Go to the right for about two blocks. Its past the antique store. Its tucked away. Close to aquarium and cannery row.

Stayed here on vacation and was pleasantly surprised with it. Not far from Bubba Gump and the aquarium. The hotel is a nice short walk, (up a slight upgrade hill) from cannery row, if you are young* (*young of heart) or a even a little in shape (I was a little out of breath but my boyfriend wasn’t.) Very close to all the restaurants and shops but don’t have to hear all the busyness from the main street. The room is clean and beautiful. We really enjoyed the ocean view as we got a cannery row room. The woman at the front desk was very sweet and had a super relaxing vibe (enjoyed her presence very much ((she needs a raise as she definitely sold me on the room speaking of her own experience with her husband<3)) Overall definitely recommend for people who are here to relax and have a nice time in Monterey. Stayed at Wave St. Inn for 3 days and had a great stay. Not fancy but very clean, comfortable room, excellent A/C. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Very convenient location and restaurants/shopping close by. Parking right on premises. Comfortable neighborhood. Would stay here in a minute on a return trip.
