Owned and operated by the Waupaca Historical Society, the Historic Train Depot is open on select weekends during the summer, however, there is often someone there at other times and would be happy to show you around. The main floor has been restored to show many original elements of the depot as it was over 100 years ago. The basement houses continually on construction model Railroad layouts. Something for all ages!
Great place to take the kids! Staff are really nice and knowledgeable. I lot of history in a little building!
This place is great! They have a few old rail cars that you can walk through. The Train station has been updated and they have several model trains in the basement.
If you have been here before you need to return. This is a work in progress. They are continuing to upgrade and make the experience better all the time. A beautifully restored authentic train station.
Great historical site for the entire family!
Very unique historical building. Wish it would have been open for us to see the inside. We will be back. Neat experience to watch a train go by while we were there.
The volunteer there was very informative with the history of the station. The station itself was in immaculate shape and beautifully restored. There are also two (2) cameras, one remotely controlled and the other statically pointing eastbound (toward Lake Michigan) for the Virtual Railfan YouTube channel. I'd definitely love to go back and visit again.
My son loved it! Lots to look at inside the station. We were lucky to see trains buzzing by several times when we visited, an added bonus for kids who love trains. 🚂
Beautiful, comfortable, calming and just what we needed for a quick getaway from the hustle and bustle. I especially enjoyed taking a bath in the claw foot tub in the master suite. And the walk down to the crystal river was lovely. Thankful to have f
Perfect for a winter weekend getaway when you start feeling stir crazy at home! Gracious hosts, cozy setting, tasty breakfasts, and an interesting story of how the current owners came into the business. I would love to return in the summer and kayak
Had a wonderful experience. Went for the fish fry. Be prepared to wait if you don't get there early, it is a bit small with limited seating. It was definitely worth the wait. I had the haddock which was delicious along with the baby reds. Our waitres
