Waterfront Hotel - JDV by Hyatt - Hotel in Oakland - 10 Washington St, USA

Our group had 6 rooms for a long weekend at the Hyatt Waterfront. The rooms were clean and comfortable, no issues. A good pool is a requirement for our group and this pool area was great! Safe valet parking was directly outside of our rooms and the cars were available quickly when needed. ||Most of us were familiar with the area but Jack London Sq has really filled in with some good dining options within a couple of blocks from the hotel. Lots of options for food, drinks, coffee and snacks. We were also <1 mile from BART with 20+ bars and restaurants in between. We felt safe going to and from BART even after midnight. It was easy to get around using rideshare, Lime scooters, BART and on foot. Alameda just started a free shuttle across the channel from Jack London Sq, we used it to explore Alameda one day, went out to the beach and found lots of fun places on Park St. We also ran on the waterfront trail every morning, it was great, views of the marinas, US Coast Guard station and Alameda. We took the Amtrak into Oakland with the station conveniently 3 blocks from the hotel. ||||Definitely recommend staying at the Hyatt Waterfront in Oakland!

I booked this as a 2 night getaway birthday present for my husband. It was perfect! Everything is within walking distance. The San Francisco ferry is right next to the hotel and there is a wonderful Marketplace when you get to the SF Bay terminal. As for Jack London Square there are some great bars and restaurants. Very clean and safe area to walk around. Wonderful trip and the hotel was awesome. It is a little worn and dated (like the carpet) but it's VERY clean!

First Time in Oakland. Quick stay for an A’s game. A great base to explore the Jack London district. We were charged a destination fee, however, the bar and other amenities covered by the fee were not open/available for our stay. They took off the charge but I had to ask. Our room was nice and had a great view. We would stay again. Visited 7/2024.

Great hotel. Balcony views were amazing. Good rooms, great service. Balcony itself was slightly dirty and not private from adjacent rooms, separated by a cloth divider. Bathroom was only okay, especially the tub, shower and toilet. Could use better ones. Overall, would definitely recommend it.

I have always wanted to stay in Jack London Square. This hotel is conveniently located near Yoshi's and other dining. There are stores within driving distance. I highly recommend the ocean view room. Our room was clean and comfortable. The air conditioning was easy to adjust for the perfect room temperature. We weren't expecting the lovely scent of the hotel soap.

I enjoyed my stay with an afternoon meal at Scott's and a tour of Plank's, a wonderful sport and entertainment venue. Did not have time to take the ferry to Fisherman's Wharf but will make time next trip. I felt safe exploring this area and enjoyed the beautiful weather and sea breeze. My room was spacious and comfortable.

Find a different hotel and take a Uber/Lyft/Public Transit to Jack London Square.||The hotel charges an extra $25 fee on top of their existing rate. It is advertised to offer several discounts and promotions, but nothing is mentioned when you are there.||The room was very basic. The shower was for a midget. I am 5'5" and I had to duck to get under the spray of the showerhead. Bed was ok. Nothing spectacular. Wall decor was worn in some places inside the room.||Some of the rooms have a balcony, but not all. If you look the balcony over- most of the chairs are all different. Paint is peeling in places. Pool umbrellas are covered in bird waste.||Only one homeless guy I noticed huddled in for the night on the waterway nearby.||The charm is in the area- Jack London Square. show up for an afternoon, stroll the boats, take in a meal, and make sure you stop into the First & Last Chance Saloon (If kids are not along.)||Most of the other travelers I saw were business/ forced to stay here for work.||$40 Valet parking included the driver moving the car maybe 50 feet down toward their East entrance. ||Not the friendliest area of town. We got to the bbq place at 7:30 when it closes at 8pm. It was PACKED. We were turned away for indoor dining. Offered takeout. I would not advise to walk through this area of town at night.

ADD $25 to the posted price to see what you really pay per night. They add $25 for a destination fee that covers nothing. Nothing was explained at check in. Do your research. Room was ok, definitely used. No comfy chair, only 2 desk style chairs. Bed was good. Bathroom was poor. Shower was too short for me and I'm 5'5". The area has charm. Make sure you wander down to the First & Last Chance Tavern. Only one homeless guy camped out overnight on the pier in front of the hotel. We were turned away from the BBQ restaurant at 7:30 when they close at 8 and were PACKED with other customers. We ate at the sushi place; that was ok- just not what we needed as casual travelers. No morning coffee. Just LOUD pop music playing in the lounge next to the front desk the morning we stayed.
