This was a fun side trip today. This little gem is tucked in a cute little town along side a rails to trails greenway. There are multiple floors of interesting art displayed by various artists. The view from the levels with windows is quite lovely.
Wassaic Project’s Haunted Mill this year. What an amazing project ! This old mill with seven different floors of art worth exploring sits in a small town. It charming . Local art project and artist's residence in Dutchess County. Our visit was on the closing day of the current show. Open studios, artist talks and fabulous expressions. A true gem!
I can guarantee this art exhibit is unlike any you've ever viewed before! There was a wide variety of art on display. The building is very unique, and leads to a great view of the surrounding town. I'm unsure if there was an elevator available, so i would keep that in mind if the seven flights of stairs may be a concern. I visited in the winter and def took my time walking in the historic building (a little over an hour). It can get chilly inside, so make sure you're dressed accordingly!
Worth a visit! Creative use of an old mill to showcase local artists. Right by the train line and the bike trail.
We didn’t expect to find so much interesting artists in the old mill. Great place. We will come again soon to see more soon. Don’t miss the ‘Dog Show’ by Stephen Morrison on the to floor.
Energetic and innovative artistry across the mediums of sculpture, choreography, music, cinematography and illustration. Artwork exhibited in former barn for livestock, which is refreshingly authentic to the surrounding rural area. Lovely views of the hamlet from Maxon Mill's topmost chamber. Some may find the Project's political messaging objectionable.
Really strong program in a wonderful space to explore. Shows a wide cross section of up and coming artists with thoughtfully arranged shows that make use of the unique properties of the space. Presentations are across mediums and styles, and range from the purely conceptual and abstract, to accessible and representational works based on deep thinking and urgent questions. Definitely worth a trip.
Amazingly well kept and restored home. Rooms were clean, spacious and the whole house was full of charm and character. I swore we were the only ones there until breakfast and 3 other couples joined us! So quiet, no creaking doors or steps, no thin wa

I can describe this place in 2 words: extremely pleasing. The staff were super friendly and the ice cream was filled to the top! They were not stingy with their sizes and made sure we got our money worth! I had a Small Lemon Sorbet. Highly recommend.
We stayed at Troutbeck while visiting our daughter before Thanksgiving. We spent the night in room 6 -, we had an additional space with lounge chairs, a soaking tub and the view was to die for!! The staff was incredible from start to finish. We ha
Good pasta specials at a great price. Don't forget to get a cannolli. New update 12/2023...still coming here for dinner. The Veal Parm is the best. I also really like the sauce.
