I've been coming to this martial arts dojang since I was about 9, I'm 16 now and one of the black belt instructors. Growing up through this martial art has taught me so many important skills and lessons. It's an amazing way to build self confidence, teach respect, and learn to lead. It always has such a warm, welcoming, family environment. It truly is a place where everyone fits in no matter what! plus it's super fun :)

Wa Han Mu Do have been really good for my 2 girls . In just over two years they went from white belts to red and made good friends . Han Mu Do studio has lots of black belt instructors, most of them volunteers, so oftentimes kids have 1 on 1 attention , private lessons are also offered at very reasonable price . Highly recommend!

In 2 years that my daughter has been a student there, she has blossomed from a shy reserved girl to a confident and empowered leader! She takes initiative, knows how to stand up for her self and acquired more discipline and motivation than from any other sports she has attended previously! The owners and instructors pour their heart and soul each practice and once you are there you truly feel like you are family! I can not recommend this place enough! ✨❤️✨

My son (9) joined Washington Han Mu Do in February of 2022 and this place quickly became what we looked forward to each week. They taught him respect, patience, discipline and most of all the skills to protect himself and others. Not only do they invest time into each kid they ensure each kid has the support needed to learn as long as the kid is putting in the effort. My teenager and I attended one of their Woman's Self Defense seminar and learned the basics of protecting ourselves against the worst and ensuring you get away safely as possible. I highly recommend all woman and teens to take it. Washington Han Mu Do has become a second family to which we are grateful for.

They are so great with the kids there. My son is in the little dragons and he absolutely loves the teachers and volunteers. The older students are really good at playing with the little dragons to keep them engaged and learning. I highly recommend to anyone who’s kid says they want to “be a ninja”. I’ve also attended the women’s self defense course and EVERY woman should attend at least once. It was so informative with real life stories and practical skills.

We have our 10 & 5 year old both going here and they LOVE IT! They've been going since June '21 and it seems like attendance has doubled since then. The VanderWaal's really have something special going on here. It's a family environment and everybody is treated like family! We are really impressed with the all the instructors, especially the junior instructors because they are all respectful and are excellent with the kids. Thank you Washington Han Mu Do, we are so HAPPY we found you!

Han Mu Do has been such a great experience for my daughter. She has learned such great self discipline and responsibility. The coaches are so great with the kids. The family that runs the gym are such good people. All around great experience. Keep it up!
