Great historic place! We were lucky since we got to see a dance and singing presentation from a local group that wants to preserve this traditional form of dancing. It took me back in time. Amazing architecture, great collection of objects, and we were guided by a very kind older woman who told us the history of the place and the people that inhabited it. My only complain maybe is the lack of conversation around slavery (not necessarily to bring politics into it) but because it is important to understand the context of the history that took place here, specially for foreigners like me.
I'm so amazed and glad we got to go see this house! I absolutely love these old plantation houses, we need to preserve history however good or bad it is!!! The house, though in need of restoration, is absolutely amazing, beautiful!! Please everyone who sees this, go visit and contribute to the restoration, entrance is only $7
Impressive and well worth a road trip. Kentuckys Ward Hall is amazing and they are trying to restore it to what it once was. Tours are by pre determined dates and extremely cheap at only $7 per adult. Highly recommend checking out and listening to the tours guides in depth knowledge of the history of the home and the people that called it home.
We attended the "old time" baseball game that the Georgetown Gentlemen hosted at Ward Hall. It was an amazing family event. We have also toured Ward Hall since it's opening as a museum and love the step back into the past. I recommend seeing it at Christmas.
This beautiful, historic house is being restored. A self guided tour covers 4 levels, and the volunteers are awesome.
The mansion is the American version of Downton Abbey and a peek into how life used to be. The house itself is a work of art and so beautiful. The gardens are also very lovely. There was no wait on Sunday and it was not very crowded and there was plenty of free parking. Everyone that worked there was very friendly and obviously love the house. There is a small gift shop that sells a few antiques as well as some knick knacks, everything was reasonably priced. I had a good time and wouldn't mind visiting the house again.
We toured this beautiful home and had a treasure of a guide that directed us including our 9 yr old grandson. Ron Bryant added so many interesting aspects to the home and added so much value to our grandson’s tour. This was our second visit, our first was at Christmas for a candle light tour. We were blown away to have a great historian give us a tour.
We Love Ward Hall it was a beautiful, educational, eye opening trip. We had a great guide Mr. Marshall he was so kind with my 8 children. He answered their questions, showed them stuff, bragged on how well behaved they were. He took his time and let me all have turns. The Hall even though under some construction was almost all open. Price was affordable especially for large families great value. I was worried my kids wouldnt enjoy it but when we left they couldn't stop talking about it. I ask them their favorite parts and they said all of it. We would definitely go again. Only recommendations would be end with gift shop and offer more to purchase.
People are great, rooms are very nice and clean. The pool was the warmest I've ever been in at a hotel. Hot tub was really nice too. Breakfast was awesome, tons of hot and cold options. Overall one of the best hotels I've been to in a long time. High
Lol this place is great... My family and I have lived in Georgetown for 8 years and passed this place a bunch and never stopped in... Glad we did as the isles and booths are endless... All sorts of mostly used and some new items... American flags, co
I don't have to say a word about this place. AWESOME I could easily spend a few thousand here on everything they have, I adore each little item. The Christmas Trees are over priced but the way they are decorated I would take it all LOL
