We just got back from WRR, we stayed 7/20 - 7/24. I’ll start with the good….If you are an off roader (have ATVs, dirt bikes, Razors etc….) this is a great starting point for hundreds of miles of exploring. The shooting courses, while we only did the 5 stand, it was soooooo much fun for our group of 10 shooters. They also sell ammo in the store at a VERY reasonable price. The full bar with a few slots was a fun time. Now on to the not so good. We had power issues every day except for the last day. It was over 100 while we were there and the power went off several times each day for an hour to 2 hours. While we have a surge protector on our rig, the power going out still managed to damage our refrigerator to the point that we had to move everything to coolers. The pool had hundreds of screaming kids that were not being supervised by their parents (not really a resort issue but still added to our disappointing trip). The place just needs a little love, it’s very outdated with no bathhouse and grumpy workers EXCEPT for Amy in the bar, she was awesome. I just wouldn’t go back.
We came last year and enjoyed our time, but this visit is extremely disappointing. They raised their rates and now charge for each off road vehicle. The hot tub was closed and they didn't let us know. We made our reservations months in advance, then they said we should have read their website about their closing the hot tub. There are so many better places to ride and one of the main reasons we came back was for the hot tub. Doubt we will ever come back. Research before you come. My families opinion is this place is not worth it.
The resort is great, and the amenities are abundant. There is plenty of riding to be done off the property with plenty of destinations nearby. The resort has a bar and a pool, amongst other things, for longer stays, and the property is well kept. They do their best to keep everyone respectful with the offroad vehicles utilizing a strict set of rules to try and make it a good time for all (not just the offroaders). There is river access, cabins, clay shooting, a pistol range, and a general store all within a few minutes. Great spot. Highly recommended.
We've been coming here for years and will continue to visit as often as possible. The riding possibilities are endless. The facilities are well maintained, the staff is friendly, and the pool is always a nice refreshing break from the heat.
Not much to do if you don't ride dirt bikes or quads. The water is a good walk away and the water moves fast. Also the entire campground is covered is sticky seeds. Nothing but sage brush to look at for miles. Overall I would look to go somewhere else
We had a great camp out and trail ride experience here. The pool was exceptionally full and not very large but a welcome respite from the heat and smoke. Met the owner and she was awesome! We were able to get side by side pull through so our friends and US opened up to each other it was nice to camp that way. Definitely will be coming back. One note though you can only reserve online. And you cannot reserve the same day. So if you're traveling through and they have open spots and you need a space for the night you're out of luck. Plan ahead.
Rented a cottage, looked really nice but the smell was terrible! Smelt very musky. Went into the room and the floor was soaked! Soaking all of my elderly dads bag of clothes! The sprinkler had broke and was leaking water into the cottage. Told them at the office they said they would have them look at it as they were very busy at that moment because of a clay shooting event they had! Well later on a man came and just turned the outside water off, not even caring to check the smelly wet floors, he said
he would check them after we checked out. When we checked out we told the woman of our experience (my dad couldn't even change clothes, they were wet and smelly!) not to mention a stage 4 cancer patient in that environment!! We told her we should be compensated, we were unhappy! She said she would pass it on to the owner and you could tell by
her attitude she didn't really want to hear about it! A few days later with no communication from anyone, I messaged thru their website. Finally got a response that it was an unfortunate event and they would give us 10%?!?!? We were given $40 for the trouble, really?!? Very disappointing and
unprofessional! We have a lot of friends that camp there with their trailers and were very upset by our Encounter! Won’t go back!
The kids enjoyed the river, which was 1 mile walking from our camp site. Sewer sites we were told were full, but the entire time we were there only 3 filled up. The bath house was out of order, but we were not told until the confirmation email came. No one was monitoring the speed of the ATV users and fine dust was kicked up all over. They water the trees 24/7 so the camp side was either muddy or dusty. The pool was clean and well kept. Overall we had a great time with the grandkids, but will look for something different in the future.
