I cannot say enough good things about this resort. We visited for our 10-year anniversary with hotel points and free night awards with diamond. The staff was fantastic from the moment we stepped on the property. We arrived super early to LA, so we got to the hotel well before check-in time. They had an upgraded room waiting for us. The pools were fantastic. The fireside terrace was beautiful and relaxing. The dining options, while pricey, were good. The tram to the beach was nice, but we ended up walking quite a few times because the weather was beautiful. The only potential negative thing I could say would be the shutters in the bathroom are odd. If I were to change one thing, it would maybe be to add a solid door to the water closet. Regardless, we will definitely be back.
After a very busy vacation at Disneyland, followed by a Mexican cruise, this was our last stop that did not disappoint. Checking in was so warm and inviting, setting the tone for a great stay.||Our suite had a nice peak of the ocean. Plenty of space to spread out and feel at home. Big bonus points for the Nespresso.||Since our last stay, the gym went through a much needed renovation. Four Peloton Bikes, lots of treads, and space to make your workout relaxing.||Pool was perfectly heated for us to swim in winter. Wonderful service from the pool bar/restaurant as well.||Bourbon steak for dinner was phenomenal. Amazing food and service. Top Five dinner in my lifetime!||My partner worked with Heidi(concierge) to have a special bottle of sparkling sent to the room. Great touch as this vacation was for my birthday.||From the wonderful checkin, service from everyone on property, and a fond farewell… we can’t wait to come back!
Stayed here twice. You can see they had a renovation recently of the room so every part of room is pretty new and worth the price, when considering their price is actually decent compared to other luxury hotel in Laguna. Service is remained in a high level even during weekends and holidays. They have a beautiful private beach club where you can dine there as a hotel guest. Common area is big and the food is delicious. Personally, this is a high quality resort in US and will come back in the future.
I was pleased that they honored my diamond status. I was immediately upgraded and received a $50 food credit. My wife and I was there to celebrate her birthday. We received an additional gift in our room for her birthday. It was a bottle of wine, however we should have asked for fruit because we do not drink...lol. The room was spacious with a desk, couch, king size bed, and a fire pit. The hotel is terrific overlooking the pacific ocean. The bathroom was large with a tub and shower. The amenities were good with a tram taking you to the restaurant and beach regularly. They provided us with complimentary bikes, although a bit of advice is spend some money to get the e-bike because there are hills to traverse. I will add when you go to the beach near the hotel, you can have free beach chairs, kites, beach toys, and towels. Although we didn't take our kids, this place is family friendly. Overall, we thoroughly appreciate our stay with zero complaints!
Just got back from out first stay at Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach. What a beautiful place with wonderful polite and friendly staff. The grounds are immaculately maintained and manicured. Hallways are bright, clean and pristine, if not a bit of a maze for the novice guest!|We were lucky enough to get a very desirable room location overlooking the golf course and the Pacific Ocean on the horizon, and sitting on the balcony in early morning or late evening you could hear the waves crashing. Room itself was fresh and bright and well stocked with all you could want to make your stay comfortable, but… the room did have one issue which actually was quite annoying, but didn’t seem worth asking to move for: In the small room containing the toilet there was an air vent that 24/7 had the rumble/drone of some kind of heating/ventilation fan motor. It was reminiscent of being on a plane going across the country or the Atlantic and hearing the noise of the engines as you tried to sleep. Yes, it was a sort of white noise, but loud enough to not be conducive to a good night’s sleep, constant and not a function of the AC controls in our room. Such a shame as the room lent itself to being able to hear a pin drop due to lack of guest in adjoining rooms… I think we pretty much had the area around us to ourselves.|Restaurants were very good and practically enjoyed Bourbon Steak for our “fancy” meal, but also liked the Monarch Bay Beach Club for dinner (fun taking the tram) and Club 19 for breakfast. We didn’t try AVEO Table & Bar.|Hope to make it back one day, maybe with a different room!|
We went for our mom's 80th birthday. The steak restaurant is a spectacular dining experience. Expensive but worth the experience. Lunch on the terrace has beautiful views. We walked the property along the coast. That was lovely. Our room had a balcony facing the resort property and the ocean. The views are stunning.
The room and the buildings are classic but also adorable. I waited for a long time for the water to turn hot for shower, which is the only surprise. I love the shampoo brand(Aesop). The resort is huge and has many activities like e-bikes, golf. We played tennis at the club across the street, the concierge lady helped us make the reservation. The front end desk and concierge I met are super welcoming. We visited on Christmas and found them selling limited Christmas version Jellycat at the shops. The bakery and coffee is good. And I really love the bathrobe, and bought one :) We didn’t have enough time to explore all the places. Hope to visit next time.
I highly recommend this hotel. It had great customer service, everyone was super friendly. The rooms were clean, the location was spectacular, those ocean views, golf course and pool were the best. The hotel's amenities are absolutely awesome. Loved every minute of it during our stay there.

Great place for a couple good pints. Three of us visited and tried a blonde, and IPA, a fruited sour and an imperial stout. We liked them all. Great flavor on the imperial stout!
