Wailuku River State Park - State park in Hilo - 2-198 Rainbow Dr, USA

What a beautiful water fall, the drop is fantastic and it’s free can you imagine. The parking is also free. There is a short hike that takes you to a huge tree it’s is amazing to see that big tree. I highly recommend to take that trail. Definitely a picturesque stop to take beautiful pictures as well. Parking is small you can wait to someone to leave so that you can find the parking spot.

It's small, private, and absolutely gorgeous. Park on the pull out just past the bridge don't follow Google into someone's driveway. There's a trail that goes up over the side then comes down and you can swim right where the waterfall is. It's a very short trail with very uneven ground. But not hard. We did it with a 2, 8, 11 and 14 YO. Hands down the best place we went to in our little waterfall excursion.

This place has amazing scenery and is a short walk up some stairs. Took a few photos and spent maybe 30-40 mins here. Keep going past the steps for some cool trees.

Wailuko River State Parke and Rainbow Falls was a very beautiful place to visit. So much green everywhere you look. The waterfall was low flowing so not a lot of water going over the falls, but still awesome!

Beautiful park with no entrance fee. You only have to be lucky to get a parking spot, but other than that it's a wonderful little treasure. The waterfall was more impressive to me than the one at Akaka. Also the enormous tree is just amazing - most likely the blueprint for the tree of life in the movie Avatar. They have restrooms and watching this place will take about 20 minutes. You can definitely combine it with your visit to Akaka Falls State Park. There are also restrooms available at this place.

Amazing waterfall easily seen without hiking. There are steps that go up to be above falls. We of course went up the trail. Good view. Wasn’t a difficult climb. The little forest the trail leads to is so freaking cool! It’s kinda dark and creepy… bizarre trees. Loved it.

It’s the easiest waterfall you can get to. You don’t even have to hike there. Parking can be a challenge at times so just be patient. You can easily spend here 15 minutes. The view and location itself is a wonder but very much a tourist hot spot. You literally see the big tour buses stop here with a crowd.

Very convenient and close to town, good parking, they say it rains every day so the falls are pretty consistent, it had rained 10 inches the day before according to the guide.
