I had the pleasure to be attended my Vanessa and Ji at the front desk. They both were extremely helpful and attended all my needs. I was able to check in earlier and have my bag stored. I got a free pass to the gym! And got a free drink! Thank you so much!

We were in town for an international event at the convention center nearby so it was busy. Despite that the hotel was always clean and the service was great. There are a handful of local businesses off of the upper lobby including a bar and two breakfast spots. Highly recommend every single one of them except Cream Pot ONLY because we didn't have time to check it out. Common areas are open air and the elevators get a lot of traffic so prepare to be sweaty and patient 😉 Almost everything is walkable from the hotel. We got HOLO (bus) cards from the 7-Eleven nearby for when we wanted to check out other parts of the island and even rented a car for a day from 808 Smart Car Rentals onsite. Really enjoyed our stay.

You get what you pay for when it comes to a place like this it is a very old hotel condo and lots of bugs in the garbage rooms, including cockroaches, but a lot of the units are very well renovated and look very nice parts of the hotel are nice parts of the hotel are sketchy and all you get what you pay for not bad value. All things is considering don’t be fooled by pictures too much, but if you’re just looking for a night to stay, this is not too bad. It is extremely walls are very thin though the upside is very close to areas. I definitely wouldn’t say it’s family-friendly.

The Monarch is an older hotel with several floors converted to condos or Airbnbs. It has a pool, and two hot tubs. Parking available for a price, but taking an Uber is more cost effective. It is about a 10 minute walk to the beach and a 15 minute walk to the heart of Waikiki. Across the street from the hotel are food trucks, and there are several restaurants within easy walking distance. The lobby floor has two options for breakfast and a bar. Not the most upscale place, but prices reflect that.

At first, I was kind of scared to be all the way on the 20th floor. But when we got in the room and looked out, we got the best view, overlooking Ala Wai Canal. The whole week we were there, saw rainbow almost every day. | Nykky was the receptionist when we checked in, and she was very nice, friendly, and helpful. The housekeeper was also nice and friendly. Room is clean. Food trucks are right across the road. Walking distance to Royal Hawaiian Center and International Market. 7Eleven is just next door. |There are 3 rental places right by the reception area. Also, there is a coffee shop by the reception area that is open I think 4am, with fresh baked goodies.

This is a budget hotel and it does the trick. Sure it’s a little dated. The sink makes a funny noise when you turn it on. But the location is convenient, the price is right, and Nykky at the front desk was very welcoming. Don’t book it for your honeymoon unless you want a divorce. But if you’re traveling solo, on a budget, or need a place to crash in town for a night or two, it’s not a bad option.🤙

Good location and cost less than other hotel near the beach. However, the room is dated and needs some maintenance. Many guests are ok, but some are rude. Staffs are also not helpful resolving a loud noise issue from a nearby room.
