Wade House Historic Site - Historical place museum in Greenbush - W7965 WI-23, USA

Fabulous experience! Our tour guide of the Wade House, Karen was informative & very personable. The grounds are beautiful & all the staff is friendly. The blacksmith didn't even break character while we were talking to him. Adds depth to the experience.

Very informative tour of the Wade House and the purpose of a stop over for those traveling by stage coach back in the day. We maintained and great presentation.

The Wade Museum is a lovely reflection on a mode of transportation that was key in the development of society. Today, transportation by a horse is similarly appealing in the pleasures of riding and maintaining such profound animals which have had a profound effect on all of us. Plus you can enjoy an "Old-time" horse and trailer ride around the property! Also contained within the museum is a detailed display of Frank Lloyd Wright's works. It is definitely a place to go and check out. I only had time to go through the carriage museum but definitely want to go back to do the hole thing. There is so much more to see. They also have a nice gift shop people working there were very friendly.

A nice collection on Horse draw carriages and information on early roads, making of carriages. In addition to information on Frank Loyd Wright.

This place was amazing I would definitely go and check it out. Right now the carriage museum is open the wade house and sawmill is closed till next spring. Th museum is well worth going and checking out.

Tips: 1. The first rides out to the Wade house don't leave for an hour after opening time on weekends. You can walk to the house, but it's a 15 minute walk and tours don't start until 11:15 anyway. 2. The Cafe is closed. You can buy junk food for a few bucks, but it's not a meal. 3. Don't let the not-so-friendly guy at the visitor center scare you off with his pronouns. The staff at the Wade house, blacksmith, sawmill, are all fantastic. Wade house staff have lots of knowledge to share, and really seem to love what they do! They have sheep out in the pasture who are all very friendly. If you stand by the fence, they'll come over to say hi! Our family spent about 4 hours there, but it may have been shorter if the transportation was running before 11am.

If you love learning about local history, or are just looking for a way to entertain yourself for a half day I highly highly recommend going through the tours here. The staff are all extremely knowledgeable and give wonderful demonstrations in the sawmill and the forge and the Wade house itself is bursting with antiques. Add on the carriage museum which has a section dedicated to frank Lloyd wright and there is just so much history being documented here.
