W.G. Creole House 1850 - Lodging in New Orleans - 1724 Clio St, USA

The hotel itself is beautiful! The walk up the stairs was rough but I’m no wuss so it wasn’t a problem. The rooms were great ours had a bathroom that was down the hall but it was just ours and all the doors have codes locks so you feel like everything is very private. The trolley stops are close by and we parked right in front of the door for our whole stay and didn’t have to pay for parking, although it was on the street. Felt very safe, although neighborhood was a bit rough we never had any trouble. The ac went out in our room on the last day and we were immediately moved to another room. The housekeeper is so so sweet and helpful and Travis is always just a text away to solve any problem. All in all we would definitely stay here again and we would definitely recommend!!!!!

This hotel is cheaper than the others surrounding this. While our stay was not terrible, we can see why there is a cost difference. Pros: the hotel is in a historical property and the common areas are beautiful. The housekeeper was very nice and we were close to the activities we wanted to do in NOLA. Each room has a mini fridge. Kitchen has a microwave. Cons: the surrounding area is dirty and very smelly. There was a large dumpster sitting outside of the hotel, likely related to ongoing construction in the area, but it smelled terrible and attracted flies. No designated parking, but we did not have issues with street parking (however, not sure if this would be a problem on weekends). Heard a lot of police cars at night. In our rooms, the curtains do not cover the windows fully so when the sun rises it becomes very bright in the room, and always woke me up. It would have been nice to have a little caring touch to welcome us, such as access to filtered water. That was not the case so we walked to a gas station to buy our own. The first night we arrived, the front door did not lock properly. The owners and employees of the hotel are not on site so it was a bit alarming to have the door unsecured given the area. But when we alerted the owner to the issue through text, they fixed it quickly. So, it’s not like I would not recommend someone to stay here, but I probably wouldn’t again.

This beautiful guest house is located a short five minute walk from the St. Charles Streetcar. The room was lovely and spacious, and the bed was super comfortable. Melissa is the heart and soul of this guest house, and from our first night there she made us feel welcome and offered us loads of great tips and advice! She is one of the kindest souls I've ever had the pleasure of meeting, and she made our trip to this great city all the better! The price was more than fair for the location and room. I would stay here again in a heartbeat

I came to beautiful New Orleans to visit with my son and for the first time I stayed at the beautiful W. G. Creole House 1850, the house was clean and very cozy. My room was the Trolley Stop Canopy with a private bathroom. Melissa was the caretaker and does a wonderful job keeping the house clean and comfortable. I highly recommend this place for your next visit to the Beignet capital of the world, enjoy!

Beautiful decor! Immacuately clean! 19th century charm! However, the best part, by far, was our hostess, Melissa. A genuine Southern Belle, she warmly greeted us and was available for local insight on where to go and how to get there. She had such a sweet spirit that it brought tears to my eyes when it was time to leave. I'll never stay anywhere else in New Orleans. She kept the parlor spotless and cozy, the perfect place to have coffee in the morning while we planned our day and read a book while my husband took a nap in the afternoon. The slow jazz that played on the antique-looking radio and the sparkling chandeliers were just the cherry on top!

Love the property. Especially it bring my 1st time in New Orleans. Melissa was very welcoming and nice and had the place look and feel like home

Beautiful, ancient property. Our room was spacious and extremely clean. The bed was very, very comfortable, allowing us to enjoy some great sleep after exploring the city all day. A special mention to the housekeeper, Melissa - she goes above and beyond in her job, is extremely knowledgeable of New Orleans and is a delight to talk to. Thank you again, we will be back!
