Visalia Marriott at the Convention Center - Featured Reviews (1587)
This hotel has great customer service I was greeted the second I walked in the door. The girl at the desk was very helpful explain everything since it was my first visit here. The rooms were very clean. There was no noise. The pools are open until late. They have room service whom are also professional at what they do but very kind also. I highly recommend the Marriott for your stays at Visalia. Pricing is just right.
Right downtown with great access to local business. Rooms are quiet... except on the weekends when the outdoor bands play under your windows until 9pm or MMA is in town. Security might be present, but on her phone, so don't be surprised if you see odd stuff going on in the lot.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Visalia Marriott on our way down to visit Sequoia National Park. I've stayed at several Bonvoy properties but have tended to avoid the Marriott chain because of a disappointing previous experience (in Monterey, California). This trip somewhat renewed my faith in Marriott with great service and value for the room. We stayed in a double Queen bed room overlooking the swimming pool. Some other reviews mentioned problems with noise from the pool, but I didn't personally experience any. The room was spacious, well-kept and clean. The one negative was that the bedding seemed to be stained and in poor condition. Service from the staff was excellent, particularly at breakfast in the dining area. The location was great for a one night stop, and is only a short walk from the Visalia downtown area.
Stayed there this past weekend from coming down the mountain to get away and be in the city while I was off work. And I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The gentlemen at the front desk lobby who checked me in was amazing, not to mention the rest of the staff from housekeeping to the bar to the servers in the restaurant ( shoutout to Marlo ! ) all around the staff was wonderful. And it’s in the perfect location for getting around the local shops downtown and food was amazing and within a few minutes distance. I hope my next visit at the Marriott will be as wonderful as this, I plan on making it a routine trip whenever I come down the mountain from Sequoia National park. Pushing for an even better experience every time Marriott.
I have stayed at this hotel several times when visiting family in Visalia, and the staff have generally been accommodating and friendly. The rooms are usually clean, so I’ve had no complaints—until my most recent stay. After staying this past Saturday, both my partner and I discovered bites on our bodies the next day. I suspect these may be bedbug bites, as we have never experienced mosquito bites or anything similar during previous visits. I reported this to the front desk today, urging them to conduct an inspection. Unfortunately, this experience has left me hesitant about returning, as the itching was so severe that it disrupted my sleep. While I would still recommend this hotel, I strongly advise conducting a thorough bed inspection upon arrival to avoid a similar situation.
This hotel advertises itself as a certified autism center, yet they have the strongest, most pungent smelling soaps I've ever come across. Seriously, they practically burnt my skin. I'm not neurodivergent and I don't mind strong soaps like bath and body works, but these were just harsh! It was like rubbing full on essential oils onto my skin and we're not talking rose or lavender. Nope! Try ginger! That stuff burns! My autistic kid had a few meltdowns from the smell and I didn't pack anything else to use because it's NEVER an issue, EVER! But at the autism certified hotel they have such pungent soaps?!?! Seriously, what irony! I asked the front desk for something more neutral and they had none. Had to go to Walmart to get supplies. What are they trying to cover with all that fragrance?
Nice and clean hotel, well located. Pool is great, rooms are modern and spacious, beds super comfy. Spacious pool area with jacuzzi, kids loved it. Perfect for our Sequoia day trip
Live music until 9/30pm on Friday nights. After that I could rest and actually hear my TV without blasting it. My room was on 4th floor. Hotel very chic and modern furnishing. I would have preferred a firmer mattress. Definitely would stay again for work. Easy check in and out.
