Virgil I "Gus" Grissom Memorial Museum - Museum in Mitchell - 3333 IN-60, USA

The museum has a lot of information about the early space flights the Gus helped pioneer. It also includes his local history it’s very Informative. It’s small museum. Worth taking 30 to 45 minutes to tour. Admission is included in your park entrance fee. $9 for non Indiana resident. Its Worth a detour. If you have more go to the historic village in the state park.

Nice little museum honoring Gus Grissom. Only 7 to get into the park then donated

We came here most recently during the Gus Grissom Days that the park puts on during the summer, which also happened to be the same weekend as Galactic Gathering 2023. Every time we come, I see something new I didn't notice before. This time, we came when they had artifacts that are not usually displayed for the public and saw several awards and medals he had received for his service. My favorite was the medal from the mayor of New York. We make this a yearly trip, and I highly recommend making this a stop on your visit. Check the times before you come, there's a video that plays that has been hit or miss on whether it's playing or not, this past time it was and was full of awesome tidbits you don't often hear about.

Virgil l "Gus"Grissom Memorial Museum it self is very clean lot of pictures of his accomplishments in his late life. So much history. I feel like adult would enjoy but kid not as much. Maybe if there was a replica of the space pod with playground outside also shading it would be pleasant. I would like to know when the caves are going to open again and navigate signs to the pond

Very interesting memorial museum. Nicely displayed. Small but informative. No admission fee to museum. Entry fee into the Spring Mill State Park.

Small easy to navigate memorial to one of Indiana's many astronauts and the second American in space. Includes the capsule from Grissom's Gemini flight.
