We love the Vintage Block Inn and Suites! Everyone is super friendly and helpful. The room was clean and decorated nice! The beds are so comfortable too. We came back since we had a great experience in 2021 and we weren't let down. They have a fun area for families to have a fire pit, grill, play some games, swim, etc. There's a small area inside the lobby with books for kids and games. We ate breakfast a couple of mornings there; we had waffles, Fruit Loops, bagels with cream cheese, and yogurt. They had a few other choices as well. If you're looking for a quaint, friendly, not "crazy busy" hotel you should stay here!
We booked this room for a two day stay and loved it. My kids loved the pool, the surrey bikes and the activity area with fire pits, jenga and bags games. The rooms were big with comfy beds. Breakfast was limited but with waffles, bagels and muffins. Would definitely stay here again.
Wow. All I can say is WOW! Excellent customer care from the time I booked, to each night here, all the way to check out. We celebrated my daughters 16th birthday this week, and the staff here went above and beyond to accommodate her and her friends, AND even asked me if it’s ok to surprise her ; they out happy sweet 16 on their scrolling board! Rooms are so comfy and have everything you need! The pool is always clean & the hang out area with firewood, games, chairs, etc is absolutely beautiful and well kept. I recommend this place to EVERYONE, seriously. Already planning my stay here for next year!
We have stayed here multiple times in the last few years and every time Misty and her staff are always polite and accommodating. This is the perfect hotel for a family friendly stay or a getaway with friends. It’s the best of both worlds with the fire pits, yard games, and pool in the middle. I have two young children who love to play outside- the hotel and all of the yard games allows them to do that in between our activities! There’s nowhere else we would rather stay when we come to Okoboji.
Stayed here July 9th for one night. Rate was $186. The room had not been cleaned. There was sand all over the sheets and under the quilts, hair pins on the night stand between the beds. We discovered this at 11pm, so we made it work. ||At checkout, I told front desk employee who blew it off and just said, “thanks for letting me know”. Unsatisfied, I contacted trip.com with whom I made the reservation. After several weeks of going back and forth because they had no luck contacting the property owner, Misty, I was told they could only offer a refund of $36 which wasn’t enough. I decided to contact this Misty myself. She returned my call and left a voicemail stating she would not be doing anything further for me. I called back and spoke with a lady who wanted to know the whole story all over again. She told me I should have said something sooner and they would have cleaned the room. I told her the room should have been clean from the beginning!! After check in, we left right away to enjoy our day at the lake and didn’t get back until late. I didn’t realize that we needed to inspect the room for cleanliness. ||I wasn’t asking for a full refund, but certainly more than $36 or even a free night. They wanted to do nothing but argue and hang up the phone. Haven’t heard anything since. $186 for a dirty room with sand in the beds and someone else’s dirty hair pins on the uncleaned nightstand. The owner and staff are rudely dismissive and unhelpful and they’re selling dirty rooms. Unacceptable! 1 Star.
This place is right in the middle of town. The rooms are set side by side in a large rectangle so the noise from the guests sitting in the communal patio area and pool does project into the rooms a little but it wasn't disturbing. The rooms are small (Queen Room) but the description does inform that. The bathroom was pretty tiny, only one person at a time and a little dated but this place isn't trying to be something it is not. It was on the expensive side at $190 including taxes but it was the 4th July long weekend so I suspect it may be less expensive other times of the year.
Great place to stay with a family. The rooms were very comfortable and it was quiet. They had a pool, fire pit and outside games for families to use. We enjoyed riding the bicycles around the property. We liked the location because it was a very short walk to a gas station, park, and dock for fishing. I would definitely return.
Our family(kids and grands) loved staying at the Vintage Block Inn & Suites!! The rooms are super cute & cozy. All the amenities including games & books for the kids, outdoor pool, firepits with firewood supplied by the motel, BBQ grills, cornhole and the super fun surrey bikes that the grandkids couldn't get enough of:) The staff also is super friendly & helpful. We will stay here again as it is family friendly:)) If you are planning an overnight trip to Okoboji, consider staying at the Vintage Block Inn & Suites, you won't be disappointed!
