Vinson's Pub + Eatery - Restaurant in Clayton - 800 E Main St #2628, USA

I had been wanting to stop by here for some time now. Finally got the chance tonight. Inside the main building was full but being a nice night, took a table in the covered outside part. Ordered a couple of burgers, fries, and onion rings. Everything was really good, if fact ended up ordering food to go. Nice little spot for a burger and beer.

We stopped by Vinson's Pub on our way back from Raleigh. I picked them because of one of the pictures in their reviews of Trashcan Nachos. Trashcan Nachos are pulled pork, beer cheeses, and barbecue sauce. The Nachos are served with a bit of theater. Unfortunately, the theater gets in the way of chip-topping balance. The toppings end up in an undifferentiated pile with dry chips. I liked the idea. My wife's fish and chips were alright. Overall, it was very average. I would eat there again but not go out of my way to do so.

Definitely a good place for wings and a burger cooked the right way. Ordered the burger medium and it came out perfect. Wings were meaty and came right off the bone. Super nice waitress and a cool industrial look inside. No complaints, would definitely return

Food was great! Had the pimento cheeseburger with fries and homemade chips.. they were all great. The service was above average. They even have Pepsi Products!

I wish I had taken photos prior to the meal, however I was engulfed in conversation and was starving that it slipped my mind. Sorry folks. However I will say this, everyone at the table enjoyed their meal. Vinson's is a great little restaurant in Clayton, NC. It has a small rustic atmosphere with great heart and vibe. The food was good. I enjoyed the Buffalo Chicken sandwich with sweet potato waffle fries. If I could change one thing, it would be that maybe the piece of chicken could be a little larger as it didn't fully cover the sandwich bun. But the flavor was good, the chicken was juicy and tender. Also at our table was the Pimento Cheese Burger. This to me was probably the only thing that seemed to be a let down. While the flavor was good, calling it a Pimento cheeseburger is a stretch. It looked like they threw on a sliced piece of cheese to the burger and that was it. You knew it was Pimento cheese by the flavor, but there wasn't enough to really claim it as such. I'd suggest increasing the amount of Pimento added to the burger to make it live up to it's name. The service was a little slow sadly. It was a busy Sunday lunchtime so I'm sure that contributed, but refilling drinks is usually something that is easy. It also took a while for her to come to our table to take orders. The service did pick up towards the end of eating our meals as some of the crowd dissipated, so maybe she was stretched a little thin. She was very nice, and everything came out accurate. I've already touched base on the atmosphere, however I'll say that it's a modern rustic take on a country restaurant, if that makes any sense. The walls are not covered but have a nice amount of signs to read, exposed aged brick walls lit by industrial style lighting, iron piping and wood shelves behind the bar. The seating options are plenty. Indoor and outdoor (heated in the winter), bar, table, booth and tall pub table seating fill the restaurant. It's not crowded feeling, which some places try to do. Overall, this is a nice establishment and we will definitely go back in the future. I'll try to update this review with photos and maybe some updates to some of the review.

Loved the wings! Chips were fresh and delicious. Our waitress was awesome, great experience!

Stopped in for the first time since they've been open (5 years). Picked a good day and time for lunch as it was not crowded and plenty of seating available. Opted for the fish & chips, which was delish. Will have to revisit for dinner one evening to check out the vibe and try some other menu items.

While passing thru Clayton on the NC Mountains to Sea Trail (MST) it was time for lunch. Vinson’s is just a short jog off the MST so I stopped. They accommodated my request to park my bicycle inside the covered seating area so A+ there! I ordered the chicken salad wrap and broccoli; my waitress kept me well supplied with sweet tea and water. That food combination was the perfect lunch for my bicycle ride too. Was very happy with my visit to Vinson’s while riding thru Clayton on the way to Howell Woods.
