Vino's Ristorante - Italian restaurant in Cedar Rapids - 3611 1st Ave SE, USA

The last time I was in Vinos was about 40 years ago. It's just as good today as it was back then. The most charming and intimate atmosphere I have ever experienced.

We had an amazing experience at Vino’s! We were visiting from out of town and picked it on a whim based on other reviews. We weren’t disappointed. It’s in a strip mall but the atmosphere is so charming and cozy. Our server was prompt & attentive. The food was delicious. I got the lasagna and my husband got the seafood portofino, both were flavorful and huge portions. We also got drinks from the bar which we didn’t love but easily forgot after everything else we tasted. Highly recommend!

We were really looking forward to dinner here before a show downtown. I figured the few negative reviews about service were just customers that are hard to please. Unfortunately, we had one of those bad experiences. We were seated at 6:15 and ordered quickly. Our meals still weren’t ready at 7:45, so we had to ask the staff to put our food directly in boxes and take it to go, in order to make it to the show. Admittedly, they were busy, but the incredibly slow service sure started off our evening in a disappointing way.

Really bad gin & tonics; mostly ice, flat tonic. Moderate food, noisy, coffee was anything but Italian; very average. Gunther was terse, dropped off check & never asked about desert…had to call him back to order. He was definitely not Mr “congeniality”. Hostess evidently cut Grammar 101 class. What a shame..I want to support locally owned places, but this was a bad experience, not how I remember Vinos from the past.

Reviews for this place we're good and I concur. So much so we went two nights in a row. No complaints. The prices were a little less than actually I would have expected. Bar service was good. The staff was friendly.

Delicious Italian food! Everything we had was amazingly good! Great place! Great food! Totally recommend it!

My partner and I tried Vino’s for the first time tonight and were impressed. All the food tasted amazing and the wait staff were friendly and took good care of us. We also noticed that they had a higher number of waitstaff working than an average restaurant would for the size, even while most businesses are struggling to keep employees, which was much appreciated. They seem to take good care of their staff! Pictured is the scallop piccata. We’ll definitely be back sometime.

A favorite place, with excellent service, good food, and love the ambience. Hope you enjoy it as well.
