Amazing home, excellent host! Tons of space and great for a small group. Might be a little creaky but all homes that were built in the 1800's. Tons of character, looking forward to our next stay!

My Boyfriend (From London, England) and I stayed at the Vineyard Mansion B&B for a total of 6 nights. The home is eloquently decorated and very clean! The host and owner (Jason) of the B&B were very welcoming and made us feel at home! The cat Root beer was very friendly and made us feel right at home as well. She slept in our bed for 4 nights, cuddling between my partner and I (because we allowed it). She is very lovable and an extremely clean kitty! Our stay also coincided with the Thanksgiving Holiday and the owner Jason offered for us to join him and his family for Thanksgiving dinner, which was very kind! However, we already had plans to have Thanksgiving with my family in the area. It was very nice having access to the kitchen, so we could cook our own breakfast in the morning at our own pace. Everything needed to prepare and cook our own meals (we brought our own food) was readily available. As well as cleaning supplies to clean up after ourselves, which was wonderful! The neighbourhood is extremely quiet. All the guests that stayed during our visit were quiet and respectful. Our room (the Lincoln room) had its own on-suite bathroom with a nice sizeable shower. The bedroom was beautifully decorated and the bed was very comfortable! Both my partner and I were very impressed! I highly recommend anyone looking for a place to stay within St. Joseph to stay here! I garauntee you will not be disappointed! We plan to return sometime soon in the future! My daughter and I stayed at The Vineyard Mansion for the weekend to celebrate her birthday. From the moment we pulled up on Museum Hill and parked, we knew we had made an excellent choice. The mansion stands tall and proud, determined to maintain its historical beauty. Once inside, we were welcomed into a lovely parlor with a wide staircase winding up to our rooms. ||The woodwork and detail are beautiful. The light fixtures are intricate and authentic to the era. Every detail has been meticulously added to this old home to restore her grandeur. Our innkeeper Jason explained some of the work he’s completed and I can’t imagine the perseverance required for him to undertake the project. But he did, and The Vineyard shines because of it. ||Our rooms were welcoming, clean, and comfortable, with super comfy bedding. There’s a choice of foaming baths to use in the clawfoot tub. This came in handy after a full day of touring the multiple museums in St. Joe. The kitchen is fully stocked, and we were encouraged to make ourselves at home. We enjoyed a nice breakfast each morning in the dining room while admiring the architecture, portraits, and curio cabinet filled with artifacts.||It certainly helped the ambiance that it was a full moon while we were there. The mansion stood tall and regal in the soft glow each evening. Thank you to Jason and we look forward to our next visit.

Stayed in the Emma Room one night for a staycation. The home is beautiful, well appointed and features beautiful furnishings and artwork. The bed was very comfortable and bathroom towels were plush. The house cat was friendly and personable. The open kitchen concept for breakfast is a good idea, but maybe leave instructions on using the coffee the pot. The people before us didn't know how to use it and we spent 20 minutes cleaning it before we could use it. Overall, very nice stay and would be happy to stay here again.

I was in town for a high school reunion and could not be more pleased than I was with the Vineyard Mansion and Carriage House B&B. Historical, beautifully furnished in period style with modern kitchen. Breakfast is DIY, which I found very desirable. Fascinating historical neighborhood.

The Carriage House B&B is an alternative to local hotels. Located in the mansion district of St. Joseph, MO, there is a lot of history with the property and nearby. We stayed in the carriage house apartment for two nights in during the work week in early June.||||Advantages:||The location is quite convenient when exploring the St. Joseph and surrounding area. Major highways, restaurants and shopping destinations are only a few minutes away.||The apartment is private and has access to downstairs laundry facilities. The overall feel is clean and cozy with its own bathroom, kitchen, dining area, and living room. There is a private bedroom and also a second bed in a secluded corner of the living room.||The kitchen was stocked with food such as oatmeal, pancake and muffin mix as well as drinks such as tea, coffee and bottled water.||The living room has a bookshelf with a variety of reading material, and a closet contained some board games.||There are multiple channels on a very nice TV in the living room above the mantle.||There are two window-unit air conditioners: one in the bedroom, and a second in the living room.||The price to stay was competitive when compared to local hotels.||Improvements:||By far the most significant issue involved two bloodstains, one on a bathroom towel and the other on the hallway light switch inside the apartment opposite the entry door. We suspect the housekeeper had a finger cut but did not realize it; wearing gloves would be a remedy for this.||The garage downstairs is actively in-use, and the garage door was opened and closed repeatedly, even after 10 pm.||Parking is on the street, not the driveway as that space is used by the property host.||While there was Internet on-site, our connections would not stay active, so it was never reliable. A modem and/or router restart was likely needed.||We found the bed in the bedroom to be less firm than we are accustomed to, so our quality of sleep was reduced.||The surrounding neighborhood has homes in great repair while other buildings were boarded up. It was an odd mix but a common theme throughout the city.||Be aware the apartment has a $45 cleaning fee added to the rental fee.||||Overall, the Carriage House site was not a good fit for us. We were looking forward to the stay but became disenchanted, even discussing the possibility of leaving early. Following our departure, a message was sent to the proprietor sharing details about two specific problems, and a reply was received indicating these would be investigated. No further follow-up was given. This location may be a better fit for visitors more accustomed to this type of property.

Really loved staying here. We stopped for one night as we move cross country and wish we could’ve stayed longer! It was charming, comfortable, clean, and relaxing. We were in the carriage house and it was so nice to have our own little apartment to rest. The beds, bedding, towels, and even bath mats were all incredibly soft and fluffy, the kitchen and bathroom have been redone and updated while keeping the historic old details that give it charm, and the area of town is quiet, beautiful, safe (at least it felt that way to a visitor) and had good access to everything St. Joseph has to offer. The rental was very clean and check in was a breeze plus you have a serene garden to walk through. Would definitely recommend staying here!

The Vineyard Mansion is a historic, old home, thus important to not expect perfection. However, it is a special, interesting, and comfortable home and it was a pleasure to have experienced it. Owners were helpful, and friendly. Decor complimented the structure. Enjoyed having access to breakfast food items (and snacks!) in the kitchen ; appreciated the flexibility of creating own breakfast on own time frame.
