One of the shorter hikes in the bay, but undoubtedly a worthwhile one. The trails are very well-kept and direction markers are plentiful. You should be able to easily clear this in slightly over an hour at a comfortable rate. It's pretty normal to see runners and other hiker throughout the day. At the top, you're rewarded with an expansive view of the region with seats to boot.

Easy hike with great views. Decent elevation and a solid 2-ish mile loop. Don’t get tricked by the maps directions, head to Villa Montalvo center and park in lot 4 (for free). Hours are restricted and I think the lots close at 5pm (in January) so check ahead if you’re wanting to go later in the afternoon.
Just hiked here on 6/13 Sunday under hot weather 81 degree. It was a busy trail and most areas were shady. During the trail at few open spots, you can see the downtown San Jose and flights prepare to land. At the top lookout point, you can see the bay, Mountain View, San Jose nice view. The restroom at parking lot #4 was closed at 4:30pm instead of 5pm.
A short uphill hike brings you to this fabulous overlook of the South Bay. It’s never normally too crowded, even at the weekend - and sitting for a while on a bench to contemplate the view and life in general is highly recommended!
