Viking Motel - Motel in Myrtle Beach - 1811 S Ocean Blvd, USA

As soon as I walked in the front desk I knew this is NOT where I wanted to stay. The front had only one chair and it was soiled. We booked through booking .com so we knew we couldn't get our money back. We booked a suite. The pictures were very deceiving. We walked in the room and immediately wanted to leave. The furniture was about 50 years old. The curtains were falling and it smelled really bad. Had to go to the store to get two light bulbs. The ac worked well but it was in the bedroom only. Full size refrigerator was in the bedroom. Not in the kitchen area. In the bathroom the ceiling and walls had patches that were repaired visible. Now the kicker. Opened the drawer to get silverware and a roach came out. Then there were roaches all over the place. Outside the hallway smelled like urine. Do I need to say more? The only thing about this place that was good was the staff. I feel sorry for them because they have to constantly listen to complaining. I'm done.

First thing when we came room was not ready and they were supposed to call our phone when it was but they never did. Hours later we went and asked them again and it was already ready so no clue how long it was ready without being told. Parking is awful only a few spots by the building otherwise you have to park across the road by another motel. When we finally got in the room first thing we found was that the toilet was broken. Kid couldn’t get a bath even though we specifically got a room with a tub because there is no stopper in the room. Carpets are super sticky and turn your feet black after waking on them. The AC in the room isn’t big or powerful enough to cool the whole place so it was hot the entire time even with it only being in the mid to low 80s. There are no places to charge devices in the room you have to unplug appliances to charge phones. Can’t get any help with anything at night because the office is closed until 8 am. The room reeks of cigarette smoke. Dishes were still dirty in the room when we checked in so we had to wash them. Overall not worth it and would be better off spending a bit more for some place that is less disgusting and one that has basic amenities like a microwave. The only reason it is 2 stars instead of 1 is that it has an elevator, is close to the beach, and is cheap.

Let’s me start by saying I’ve never stayed here and reading the reviews before arriving, there were both good and bad reviews so I was a bit nervous but i was very pleased! From the booking to arriving was made so easy and I must say Makaylia was amazing! She was very sweet and professional as was all the staff! We had a OF room with 3 bed and kitchen and it was very clean! No bugs of any kind and yes we checked beds and everywhere before unloading out stuff. Would definitely stay here again!

We arrived Sunday night July 14,2024 I was very hesitant due to the reviews I had read, HOWEVER, the room was very clean, AND BUG FREE!!! Stove n Frig. Worked Great I'm VERY WELL PLEASED WITH THE ENTIRE STAFF , ALWAYS HELPFUL N JUST SIMPLY WONDERFUL!!! Even at the pool side. The elevator ran somewhat slow , for those who doesn't have patience to wait the steps are right there. It needs air flow to keep the smell down from where the ocean water is carried in sand dirt

Mickalia at the front was amazing!5 of us top floor room 515,washer/dryer beside us,paid $100 deposit n got bck after rm inspection upon leaving, It is a comfortable affordable place,below us was loud but wasn't a bother.Right on beach n walkin dist to wat we needed.will stay again it had all we needed.Not fancy but livable.Got wat we needed by calling front desk,no bother,food delivered from close places,view amazing.Kids loved the pool.will go back! If u want affordable place to stay on the beach not a lot of people but can't afford a ton of money then stay here.only thing not liked, TV in entrance room with 1 bed but air cond in 2nd room with 2 beds.We bought 2 fans and it kept us comfortable other than the it had all we needed n water stayed HOT which is a plus! Stove,fridge,microwave, dishes,pans,silverware, soap,shampoo all u need with walmart 2 blocks behind u.

Yes, the room is dated, but it's serviceable. You have to give a 100$ cash deposit to check-in, and they don't have anyone to check you out and give the deposit back until after 830am.. so it set back the drive home by 2 hours.. however, it's on the beach, the A/C is cold, and you only really stay in the room to sleep.

The day we entered, there was water coming out of the AC and when we said that please fix it, they never did. The bathrooms were so tiny, you can barely fit your own self in there. The floor is so dirty that you cannot even put your bare feet on the ground and you have to wear shoes. The towels are very dirty; when we used them, there was bad lint coming out of it. The rooms smelled like someone’s dog had peed in that room. All the rooms are smoking rooms. Lastly, so far our door got jammed and when we called the housekeeping person, even he said that he cannot open the door. We had to cancel our dinner due to this and the maintenance people did not even care to arrive on time and fix the door.

Never coming back here again, If i could give 0 stars, I definitely would! Let’s start with the workers at the front desk, The ladies are RUDE, i even felt uncomfortable asking questions because they would respond with attitude. I came here with family and we paid for 2 rooms, I had reserved a room with a balcony and ocean view (the cost was $100 Extra), and the other room was supposed to be more basic and simple (no kitchen). When we got there we had to wait 4 HOURS for them to give me the keys for the room, when they gave me the keys i was extremely surprised because I paid extra to get a room all the way in the back with 0 ocean view, the rooms are so dirty the carpets are stained and smell! The other room was beside us, and it was basically the same but the other room was way more cleaner than ours. SAVE YOUR MONEY! There was roaches everywhere, dead flies, a strong cigarette smell, dirty sheets. It was the worst experience ever!
