Viking Motel - Featured Reviews (134)
This was the 4th summer vacation I have stayed at Viking Motel. It has changed hands since John and his wife used to own it. I missed the fresh juice and pastries in the morning laid out for hotel guests. It was always a nice touch. Otherwise, it was the same - clean rooms and bathrooms, spotless property, no smoking, easy ample parking on premises and beyond helpful staff. Alex, the Super, was accommodating and everyone worked hard to keep the property in tip top shape. We will definitely keep coming back if it stays like this.
The hotel was used for overflow of attendees that were at two other facilities across the street on the beach side. What a disaster the Viking is. It was up to date in the 50s/60s, but not now. The bathroom is super small without any room to even put your toiletries. The screens in the two windows were dirty. There are hardly any outlets in the room. We had a microwave, small frig and coffee pot - no cups, no coffee. The water for the shower was ice cold. This location is good (one block from the beach) but can only be improved by gutting or demolishing the structure and starting over. The manager from the other facility did the best he good getting this place ready for overflow attendees, but it was just too much to handle.
If you’re looking for a place to JUST sleep, this is it! But, if you’re looking for a vacation spot, I do NOT recommend. Rooms are extremely outdated No outlets to plug anything in No music allowed whatsoever No security on room doors (one of our rooms didn’t even lock, and no doors have the peep hole or a security lock on inside) Pool area closes at 7pm so no using the grill or pool after that time Cleaning lady very friendly, rest of staff is miserable and rude. Not a place to bring your children. Definitely not a place you would be able to enjoy on vacation. Oh and if you smoke or vape, you have to go all the way out to your car to do so. They also kicked an elderly couple out at 10 pm. The couple were in their 70’s. Completely unacceptable.
The location was close to the beach. Vacationers were very nice. Family oriented. It was very clean. House keepers very sweet. It needs updating. Towels are rough not soft. Blankets need to be updated they are paper thin and pillows are horrible. 3rd floor was rough stairs are very tough carrying your belongings. You get what u pay for.
I don't really understand why this motel has high reviews. When booking, it was by far the cheapest place for the time period I was looking for. I knew that it was a gamble but I figured that the place would either surprise or horrify me, so I got a little of both. The location was great, very quiet for being located in Wildwood Crest. The balconies faced the back of a hotel across the street that wasn't noisy, tennis/pickleball courts on one side, and a public building diagonally across the street. So the location was a very nice plus. ||||We stayed a few nights and I figured I just needed a place to lay my head as we don't plan on being in the room much when at the beach. The problem was that there were few creature comforts to make the stay enjoyable. Depending on where your room was on the premise, the Wi-Fi is either awesome or non-existent. We appeared to stay far away from wherever the Wi-Fi was because I couldn't get a signal to look up menus or for the kids to play on their tablets.||||There was mold on the bathroom ceiling and the shower above the tub line never got cleaned. There was a clump of hair that lived in one spot my entire stay about chest level in the shower. The shower drain was slow and would pool up and create a foot bath composed of sand and dirt from you and whoever took a shower before you. I kind of thought this would not be the cleanest place based on the outdated pictures and the whole setup of the motel, so I brought my own cleaning supplies because I don't want my kids to get sick. I was in the military for awhile so I am quite used to a tent, bagged meal, and a 99 cent Federal budget for creature comforts. But I wanted my kids to have happy memories, so cleanliness and COVID are a big concern still. My AC unit was on 62 degrees and would only really cool half of the room. The AC unit had mold on the vents and inside the unit, so my Microban was put to good use cleaning what I could. ||||Overall, this was a one-time stay only. It was extremely outdated and almost seem neglected. I spoke to a few other people who were staying at the same time I was and they were disappointed with the place overall and said they would not return again. There are so many places to stay in the Crest and it's been a trial and error for me. Viking Motel just didn't feel comfortable and it missed out on providing a lot of basic features needed to be sustainable for both a short and long stay.
From reviews was very surprised at the room. Room was large,, beds very comfortable, was clean but so outdated. New ownership recently, hoping they change it. Outlet in bathroom not useable, poor lighting in room. Pool closes at 8 which was disappointing. Staff very nice & accommodating. Location is great.
Web site does not reflect the appearance of the pool or rooms. The pool looks like a dank, dark pool with black lining. The rooms do Not have full refrigerators as advertised but have a dorm size refrigerator. The seating area has plastic chairs Not nice high back chairs as advertised. Management is rude and when asked to see the advertised room, they refused. The management also blamed booking .com for the false photos which was not true. The main office smelled like mold and mildew
Our room was bigger than expected. Had chairs in front of room to sit and enjoy the view, which I had of the beach and ocean. Staff was great. Johnny kept the place very tidy. Definitely would go there again! Parking spots are very small, but was grateful to have free parking. I was there three nights with my two kids.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Blue Marlin. We were greeted warmly by Marion upon check-in and recommended dining in the area. The Motel was immaculately clean from the common areas, rooms and pool. The staff was friendly and welcoming each da

Fantastic place, with fantastic people. There was a mixup with our reservation where we didn't show up in the system, but David was more than gracious on working with us. After getting that first night figured out (at his own expense), he made sure a
We stayed in Compass Motel during Labor Day and have to say it was one of our best vacations. Rooms, pool, amenities even stairs were very clean. Proximity to the beach was great. Most of all - the atmosphere was the best. People were really having a
This is seriously amazing food! The most flavorful dining experience we had in Wildwood the week of our vacation there. From the chips and queso dip for starters, to the main course of the pork tacos and steak burrito, to the dessert of a fried and
Really tasty vegan (non-dairy) ice cream! They only have one flavor (vanilla) but it had a great creamy texture. They have several toppings that are vegan although only sprinkles can go on top of a cone (as opposed to a cup). The attached picture is
This is a beautiful well- designed venue. The sound system was excellent . The jazz trio was very good but the crowd was sparse. Traditional jazz is not popular with vacationers in Wildwood Crest.
Visited today, for the first time, to enjoy breakfast and had an excellent experience. The food was fantastic including blueberry pancakes with fresh blueberry and perfectly made French toast. The staff were wonderful too. Our waitress was excell
The food was great and so was the view from the porch! Georgeâs Place offered a really nice lunch and breakfast menu. The waffle was fantastic and the small salads that we ordered with our quesadillas and pita were amazing! The staff were friend
Park looks new and well maintained, and close to the beach. Itâs got swings, a huge playground area, a covered spot for shade, and two full basketball courts. Also it has bathrooms which is great for if you have young kids.
I had a great breakfast with my boyfriend. The food was yummy and there were no issues at all. If you go make sure to bring cash, although they have an ATM the machine works but it can give you certain issues with your withdrawal. The service was gre
Exceptionally clean and wonderful service. We stayed for two nights and in between dishes were cleaned, sheets and beds were made, and towels were replenished without even us asking. Added bonus, we arrived early and our rooms were ready. Liz, who
