My family and I were in town and was directed to this cool 20's hotel vibe shop. Staff was very personable, the atmosphere was so cozy and our drinks were on-point. I guess there was a boil alert in the area which kept them from using their main machine, but they pulled out a one-grouo Rocket and were hustling. My husband and I both ordered breves, which were absolutely PERFECT! Staff did great with what they had to work with and we didn't wait too long for our drinks. I'm so glad we found this place! :)

Not your typical cup of coffee. Vice and Virtue is a special experience. Their beans are aged in old bourbon barrels and that has a dramatic effect on the taste of their coffee. Are you drinking alcohol, no. Does the taste of espresso get covered up by the taste of bourbon, for me, yes. They made a great quality cup of coffee and the vibes make you feel like you're in a ritzy 1920's hotel lobby. For me, I love the taste of good espresso so this spot was not the best fit for my tastes but certainly worth a visit.

Great coffee shop in the first floor of a boutique hotel one block from the National Civil Rights Museum. The lobby of the hotel is awesome, and the coffee was very good!

Firstly, the food here is massively overpriced for what you get. We paid $50 for 2 gross sandwiches and 2 watered down coffees and were extremely unimpressed. Neither of us finished our food because it wasn’t good. Secondly, not only was the food subpar, it took 30 minutes to receive. Lastly and MOST IMPORTANTLY, i paid for my meal to go and tapped to pay and instead of being given the option to tip, the person at the register decided to take it upon herself to fill in the tip herself giving herself a $10 tip without my consent. I contacted the coffee shop and instead of apologizing for stealing from me and falsifying credit card charges that weren’t approved, i was told to make sure i select a tip option next time lol. EXTREMELY POOR BUSINESS DECISIONS. Gracie should be fired for stealing. We won’t return to this establishment and are disgusted with how this was handled. UPDATE: I happily tip servers >20% consistently when I’m not stolen from. I felt taken advantage of by the employee and therefore did not feel as though said employee deserved my tip ESPECIALLY seeing as my order was a to go order. Tipping culture has gotten so out of control, I’m now chastised by managers to tip when not asked and tip over 20% when the employee did nothing but type in my order. How ridiculous. I also did not have any rude words towards any of the staff during my visit to this establishment and was exceptionally friendly before I realized the transgression at hand. In addition, I rarely leave poor reviews as you can see via my profile where I’ve left HUNDREDS of positive words to deserving businesses. Congrats to her for getting a bonus. Enabling stealing isn’t a professional business venture in my opinion, but we all run our businesses differently I suppose. In my waitressing days it was illegal to write in a tip and I would have been punished for doing so.

Wow this place is good! We went here twice with different baristas and both times great coffee. We ordered flat whites and it came out perfect with latte art. Limited range of pastries and cake but all good. We loved the apple hand pie and the brown butter brownie.

Vice and Virtue is my favorite coffee spot! Nicholas and Katy were so friendly this morning when I stopped by. Katy always helps me make a selection perfect for my tastes.

I’ve visited nearly every coffee shop in Memphis and while most are good, Vice & Virtue is truly excellent (and they have Food & Wine Magazine’s endorsement to prove it). Espresso drinks are always excellent and the cappuccino (pictured) is masterfully prepared (and designed). After talking with the baristas (who are really chill!), I learned Vice & Virtue specializes in lighter roast coffee which results in a more nuanced flavor profile (evinced in their drip coffee, endless if you stay, and my go-to when I don’t opt for cold brew). Pastries are also incredible, albeit a little pricey like other food items, but worth it for the quality. This is a lovely space to telework, socialize, read, or even take a date. Several strangers have become my friends over coffee at Vice & Virtue. This coffee shop is, unequivocally, the finest (and coziest) of its kind in Memphis. A real treasure!

Such an awesome experience! This has been an exciting new addition to Memphis downtown spaces to enjoy coffee, brunch, work, and/or hang out with friends. The vibrant decorating and eclectic comfortable furniture is undeniably inspiring. It was at first difficult to find as the exterior is advertised as the Arrive Hotel (it is in the lobby of the hotel!! First space when you walk in!) The bourbon Mocha is so good. There toasts are amazing as well. The staff is very attentive and friendly. I can't wait to see V+V grow!

The flat white was so good espresso wasn’t burnt and the ginger latte was spot on. The frittata was fluffy and not dry. The Brie and fig croissant was just the right balance of flavor. Friendly space in an old building. Definitely pass up the c
