Service was amazing here, and the prices were really reasonable for the area! My Bolognese sauce was a little too salty (I'm a salt fiend, so it must've been REALLY salty for the average person). My sis got the gnocchi and she thought the sauce was too sweet, and the burrata on top was cold. But it's very likely that we caught the chef on a bad night, because so many others have had great things to say about the food. Again, service was the best part. Great place overall!

WOW! I wanted authentic delicious Italian food and this place delivered. The food was amazing very flavorful and great portions. The sangria was also great. Our server Lauren made ordering so simple between her Italian accent, her knowledge of the food, and her upbeat kind personality I could not have asked for more. Her food recommendations were on point. The kids really liked their cheese pizza and sitting out on the deck was a sweet treat! We will be back and encourage others to go visit this gem!

Ceasar salad 2 *, carpaccio 3*, bread plus dip 4*, wine 5*, dinners Cioppino and Sea bass, both 6*. All and all a 4 star experience, we definitely will come back.

This place was great very authentic Italian. The service here was phenomenal. The food was very good I recommend the gnocchi with pesto it was awesome, they make their own chimichurri oil it is really good. The dessert was very good their tiramisu is definitely worth having but have to say the cannoli was one of the best I've ever had. We had a very nice table in the corner next to the window. The prosciutto and burrata appetizer was it amazing I wanted to try a couple other things but was way too full. My wife ended up taking stuff home. We will definitely be back

I’ve visited just one time (last weekend) but I can already tell that Via Vai will be one of my favorite restaurants in Carlsbad - the food was fantastic, they have a lovely patio and with very cozy seating inside, the service was excellent, they have a very good wine selection and I loved the menu options. We are definitely going back - soon.

We are happy to find this dinner place. We love every dish we ordered. Best meal we had in this trip. Fresh seafood in generous portion. Good Italian wine and dessert.

Great authentic Italian and welcoming service. Food was really good and authentic. Service was even better. Every staff member was very welcoming and made you feel at home. Truly enjoyed our experience and will gladly visit and recommend Via Vai!!

My husband and I went to celebrate my birthday. They sat us quickly and brought us waters. The service was quick which was nice. We just weren't impressed with the food at all! My husband got the lobster ravioli, and we were unimpressed by the entree. The lobster tasted as if it were fake lobster and it was drowned in the sauce. The sauce was too thick and bland and made it hard to eat. Considering we were charged "lobster pricing" we should be getting smooth, tasty, buttery lobster. I ordered the spaghetti carbonara and it was tasty, my only issue was panchetta, the portion of panchetta was way more than the usual amount and it was so much fat, that it made it hard to eat. We were extremely unimpressed and felt the food was not worth what we paid. At the end my husband reminded them of my birthday and the lady brought the check. I guess they do nothing to celebrate birthdays. Considering everything, we will not be going back to this place and we will let our friends know not to go as well.
