Vesta Chocolate - Chocolate shop in Upper Montclair - 598 Valley Rd Ste.2, USA

Finally got a chance to visit Vesta to grab some sweets and was so satisfied! I had their six pack sea salt chocolate chip cookies and they were delicious! The cookies were soft and had good quality chocolate chips which were rich in flavor and complimented well with the sea salt. I also tried a slice of their basque cheesecake which had such beautiful flavor. It was silky creamy and had that nice chocolate ganache on the top with a tiny gold flake. I actually liked that there wasnt much chocolate on top as it would have taken over the entire cheesecake flavor. There are other items such as their brownies, barks and hot coco. You could tell these items were of very good standards. The truffles were so elegant looking and looked perfect for gift giving. The bag our orders came in with was so presentable that its like Vesta is the Tiffany and Co. of chocolates! They are pricey for such small desserts but I’am aware that here its quality over quantity and its also for that experience of premium quality small batch chocolates. I had to knock off one star unfortunately as I didnt have the best experience with the latte my husband ordered. I know coffee is supposed to be hot okay but the one he got was just piping hot. Having tried so many lattes in so many different cafes I understand that that it has to be at a right temperature where its hot but can still be readily drinkable. But regardless, I would love to be back as I have been eyeing their iced mocha latte. Hopefully some time during warmer weathers.

Came for the Matcha bar and really enjoyed it!! Staff was nice and helped us choose what to try. My husband loved the truffles, particularly the carmel, coffe, and vanilla. The hardest part was deciding what to try. The desserts also looked phenomenal. Overall a little pricey but delicious. Will definitely be back for more treats!!

Very good chocolate, very overpriced. I eat a lot of chocolate, and this is definitely good stuff. However, $36 for 2 small bars and 2 large (but actually small) hot chocolates just isn't worth it. I could understand $25, or even $30, but $36 is highway robbery. Edit: My review seems to have struck a nerve with the owner, so let's do some math. Vesta's bars are priced at $9 for 45 grams, or $5.66/oz. Comparable fair trade bars are typically priced between $1-2/oz, meaning Vesta is priced 3-5x higher than other chocolatiers. Sorry, but it's just not worth it.

Hidden gem! Just stopped in for a quick caffeine boost and the aroma of chocolate swept me away to a heavenly place! Barista was friendly and the shop is super cool with an old bank vault!! Branding is amazing too (I’m a local designer, so this also is a big plus)

The most wonderful smelling shop in the history of ever. Best chocolate I’ve ever eaten. Period. End of story.

This place had an intoxicating chocolate smell on the sidewalk that lured me in. You could see the chocolates glistening throughs the window like 5th Ave holiday windows haha. I had the marshmallow and earl grey chocolates. Both were smooth and perfectly sweet. These can make the perfect gift to someone if you order a box of 6 or more! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area.

I am extremely disappointed in the quantity of hot chocolate. When Vestri first opened the chocolate was thick, dark and very much like the hot chocolate in France. This time I brought it home and it is one step about Swiss miss. Thin , little chocolate tasting. I’m extremely disappointed and will never return to Vestri.

There’s not enough nice things I could possibly say about Vesta. From the ambiance of the space itself to the delicious smell of luscious chocolate, this place is just amazing. Julia and her husband put so much hard work into their craft. Everything they make is not only beyond gorgeous, but delicious! Although I have never had them (not vegan) the bonbons are stunning to look at and make perfect gifts. The vegan chocolate bars are amazing. Highly recommended if your looking to buy for someone else, or treat yourself!
