Vernon Bar & Grill - Bar & grill in Cedar Rapids - 2835 Mt Vernon Rd SE, USA

The food was amazing and very attentive to drinks, food and entertainment. With kids aged 6- 12 they were magnificent to attending all needs and requests. It may be a bar and grill, but small family owned. I would refer to this anyone who wants food decently priced and kid friendly.

Very good food, nothing extravagant, all very high quality, well prepared, Delish. Wait staff was very helpful, kudos! Went above and beyond without a single wince even.

Went in a little before noon on a Saturday for some late breakfast. No interrogations about bringing my family (including two small children) with me; order was taken quickly, we were checked on several times and felt respected by the staff as well as the other customers in what some people may view as an unconventional dining choice for small children. Food was absolutely amazing. Very fairly priced, almost too hot to eat upon arrival and a giant thumbs up on the pancakes from a 3 year old - can't do much better than that.

Interesting to see the changes at the new location (from the previous Fresh wraps) but I'd never been to the old Vernon Bar and Grill either to compare. Wait staff was great. Pretty varied menu for such a small place. We ordered the fish sandwich, a hot beef plate and shared an order of corn nuggets. They weren't spicy as the menu suggested (supply chain issues we were told when we asked) but they were delicious. The hot beef was good, though still not my favorite and came with plenty of good brown gravy. The mashed potatoes were good too, thicker than the last place I had had a hot beef at. The fish on the fish sandwich was much larger than the bun. No complaints. The crinkle cut fries were just OK. Reminded me a bit of coated fries which I'm not a huge fan of. So while not outstanding, still solid. Overall a good experience and probably a great option for those looking for a late night meal as the kitchen stays open with a limited menu until midnight. They also serve breakfast all day.

Asked for med rare it came out well done. Service was not great 😒

Was okay. Family feud was on so played with other diners! Laughed a lot at least!

Like the new location. Same staff, same neighborhood folks. You should meander their way if you're in the neighborhood...

Stopped by to order take out! We were quickly waited on at the bar area, enjoyed a friendly chat with perhaps the owner, food came in a reasonable amount of time & it was still warm & tasty when we got home! There was a generous helping of food, too- we had leftovers for a snack at a later time!
