One of the leading world company making equipment and solutions for schools in math, biology, chemistry, physics and engineering.
Located in the very green a calm area of Beaverton, just 10 km out of Portland, Oregon by streetcar.
Huge hi-tech office is quite comfortable and equipped with all the required services for the employees.
If I could give them a 0, I would. This company is a bunch of crooks who take advantage of students. Their products are way overpriced and have a terrible return policy. Students can’t afford their machines; but are forced to get them for classes and if the school changes up material after you’ve bought the machine already, the students just have to bite the bullet on the $500+ machine they just bought. This company is terrible.
I haven't even received the tools for my class yet, but wanted to point out how ridiculous it is to pay $40 to ship items to a town three hours down I-5. Really? It's obvious that the kit is overpriced, but to turn around and gouge people on shipping as well? I'm thankful that I'm not having it shipped overseas; that shipping cost was $196. Come on...
They have one of the best work environments of the area. Their employees are very respectful, integral, corteous I truly appreciate their ethics and look up to copy and apply some of their principles.
Both the sensors and the software are a problem to use. I spend inordinate amounts of time setting up labs, trying to connect to sensors and getting data into the computer. Following the printed instructions in the manual that comes with the sensors does not work. I would not recommend this to any teacher that teaches any of the sciences. As department chairman, I have worked with others in the department in a variety of courses using a variety of sensors and everyone has problems that involve excessive amounts of time trying to make sensors work or data to be gathered. I have a labquest stream that I have just spent the last 7 hours trying to make work. I have reloaded software on my computer twice and still cannot make it recognize the stream. It has been a tremendous waste of time and money. I will do the labs another way.
Although quoted on the "About Vernier" tab of the company website as saying, "Our goal is to make sure teachers have what they need, when they need it. along with the best support we can provide" I can attest that is not a supported statement.
Having called several companies needing parts quickly, I was told by a female customer service agent that UPS 2nd Day air would get me the parts my son needed on time...I gladly placed my order and paid for the expedited shipping.
When calling to get tracking information, I was told by Scott that the order would be delivered to me by Monday. This, now being too late, because the parts are for a competition being held on Monday.
After a long discussion with Scott, who was very professional and was trying to find out who (not that at this point it would make a difference) would have given false information.
At my request, I was put on the phone with Christine who I was told wa sthe Vice President of the company. Much to my surprise and disgust, Christine spoke like a petulant child who said nothing could be done and proceeded to speak over me then end the call.
Very, very disappointed that any professional woman would behave in such a manor.
Now without the parts and a child who will not be able to compete in Georgia TSA Tech Day. Poor behavior and TERIBLE example for her customer service representatives.
Great building, well maintained
A great company. Friendly reception. Helpful tech support. Great sensor technology.

The community at SS Beaverton is an amazing environment! I attended the Squat and Deadlift camp and totally enjoyed the experience. The head Coach Amanda Sheppard is amazing, spend even 30 minutes with her and you will know why she is the 2022 SS Coa
