Cute place but not a welcoming one. Very stand off at door and server seemed like she didn’t want to be there, no offer of apps much less dessert. I spent almost $40 for one person, food was average.. This is not a return spot for me, we all work to hard for our money these days. A bit of customer service goes a long way !! JS ! Plus the place was dirty, so slow sweep your floors.
Normally 5 star. My Ribeye was average. I didn't order seafood yesterday (Thursday) as the next day was Friday and it's Lent. I should have ordered the fried chicken. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't nasty, just average flavor with a little bit too much gristle. Temp was on point. Everything else was amazing as usual! W long time customer, just wanted to try something different. I ate it all. It was good, but compared to their seafood and chicken, it was Meh. I still highly recommend this establishment. 👌 BTW, the bread pudding was ecstatic! Never had it with grilled(roasted maybe) Pineapple before. I ate every last drop. Service was top notch.
We told the waitress the soft shell crab tasted odd and was mushy. She said all soft shell crabs are mushy. Have eaten there since they were on rats nest Rd and NEVER had one that was nasty. She told me the tarter sauce was the exact same. It tasted like mayo with pickles in it. It was bland. There were only 4 oysters on a seafood platter with 6 shrimp, a few pieces of catfish with A PIECE OF TOAST WHERE THEY USED TO USE 2 TO ABSORB THE GREASE. It was a bad experience and they lost a good customer behind a $10.00 nasty soft shell crab that was still sitting on my plate when I left.
Had a Class Reunion Luncheon. It was successful had the seafood platter w shrimp and oysters. Delicious. One friend had the stuff flounder. It was huge. Delicious stuffing. Customer service was excellent.
The food was good quality and had the appearance of fast food joints not a local feeling
Service was okay but lacking the local flavor more like lets get it done
The atmosphere was excellent I'm sure we can brush things up and become a local gem
Visited this place for the first time looking for some good seafood. Ordered the blackened catfish/shrimp at the recommendation of my server to my dismay. The blackened catfish was bland and had hardly any blackened seasoning. The side choices were limited to fried items and salad, so I asked for a side of rice and the hush puppies. Hush puppies were some of the best I’ve ever eaten for sure. I thought I’d be adventurous and order a pina colada and was disappointed. Stick to the non frozen drinks here or else you end up with a drink too watery or too frozen to drink. I did order some cheese fries to go and some wings which were delicious and crispy. It seems they really have a knack for cooking the fried items, and not so much the grilled ones. By the way, I wish I got my servers name because she was awesome, prompt, and sweet and made the experience enjoyable.
Great food and service today. We had limited time for lunch in order to make our movie time. I called ahead and inquired if I could preorder and dine in. They were accommodating. Dishes ordered: Shrimp poboy and Caesar salad with fried oysters. Only negative is that I didn't care for their Caesar dressing. They were extra generous with the shrimp portion.
Stopped in here to check it out because of the name. Since we too are “Vera’s” and we love seafood. Started with the gator sausage, and onion rings. Both were good, but nothing we would ever need to have more than once. Dinner will have you coming back again and again though. We all ordered something different and then tasted them all. Every item was delicious, a symphony of flavors in every bite! Servings are generous, none of us were able to eat all our meal, which was sad because we are traveling so there’s no way to take it home for tomorrow. I was thrilled they had some shirts for us to buy and take home to the hubby since he didn’t make this trip with us. Staff was mostly young girls, friendly but not over the top like some places. It’s a nice laid back place to stop in, relax, eat… hang a dollar on the wall and move on down the road.
If you made it this far hit the thumbs up for me!

Hands down, this is my favorite seafood place in Slidell. Finally, a seafood platter I can't eat in one sitting! More actual seafood than fries. But dont get me wrong, even the fries are perfect.
Properly seasoned, perfectly fried, 100% fresh, and a
This place is amazing. We stopped here on our way back home from New Orleans, and they did not disappoint. Our server Brittany was so polite and nice. The manager Paul greeted us at the door, and constantly checked on us to make sure everything was g
