I would never ever step foot in this place again!! |Myself and Mum had booked two nights accommodation as my Dad was in Waikato hospital (thinking we would be there for a few days). He ended up passing away suddenly and we didn't even use the room at all. The manager refused to give any sort of refund not even a partial as he said it was not his problem and "just part of their policy". I find this absolutely shocking as if a death isn't hard enough to deal with we have to pay close to $500 on accommodation that we didn't use - that money could go towards funeral costs. |After I had requested a refund or partial refund j had to continously ring for 3 days until I finally got an answer. Horrible customer service

I stayed here during my wife's surgery in Marquette. She had checked most of the hotels who offered hospital rates of $55 a night. The Venture was substantially less for one person on the hospital rate. The room was large and clean and conveniently located to the hospital and a variety of restaurants.||My non smoking room did smell like smoke, but most of the people there smoked. The owner was pleasant, friendly and courteous. I did not want to spend $100 a night for a room I would only sleep in. This met my needs for a great rate and I was impresssed by its cleanliness and proximity to downtown.

Needles all over the property, absolutely filthy. Don't believe advertising!! Beds are broke no fans in baĺthrooms. A person can smell feces from 5 -6 rooms it's disgusting . The no smoking rooms are constantly filled with smoke. Kids and adults run up and down hallways. Housekeeping staff start vacuuming 7am banging around always.

I called to get information about rates and ammenities. After speaking with my husband, I then called back asking to book the room. The woman on the phone (who clearly was a smoker) told me I would have to call back tomorrow. I asked "what if the room is gone by then?" She said, "Well I have a funeral service in town and all six lines are ringing right now and I don't know what to tell you." I replied, "really?" and she said, "yes I dont know what to tell you" then proceeded to hang up on me. Real Classy. If you want someone who has no experience in customer service... book your room here. I'm sure you'll get everything you want!

Called to find out about rates starting tomorrow or the next day and for roughly a week or two. Rough-sounding lady said "I'd need to know about when you'd need the room". Yup....so repeated it would be tomorrow or the next day and for a week or two. She said I'd have to call the owner. I asked if she could give me some rough estimate, a ballpark. She said "that's not what I do". It's truly amazing...zero customer service skills. Unable to get a room rate over the phone, unable to get one online...this is a fleabag with rude staff. Abandon all hope ye who enter...

Like the other reviewer, I was in town to visit a seriously ill relative. Needed a cheap, clean room near the hospital. Bingo! A few words of wisdom...because this is a "mom & pop" motel, sometimes the phone goes unanswered or the office is untended. Bring your own hair dryer, there aren't any. No amenities other than bar soap so be prepared. There is a fridge in the room, and in the hallway a microwave. Coffee available in the office when the owner gets up to make it, so if you must have your coffee early, bring your own. Pat's Bar is right next door where you can unwind or get a burger. Plenty of places to eat in the vicinity. I've stayed here twice, both positive experiences.

reasonable rates and nice clean rooms. Lobby/ Front desk area could use a good cleaning and organization to make a better first impresson.

Friendly owner and great place to stay! My husband and I would definitely go back.
