Vargas Cut and Catch - Steak house in Galveston - 2102 Postoffice St, USA

Date night with the misses and made a reservation one week prior. Reservation for two at 5 p.m., and we arrived 15 minutes early approximately. We got a parking spot in front of the restaurant and paid the parking fee with our telephone. It was 95-plus degrees outside, and we had to wait until they opened the door at 5 p.m. The restaurant was beautiful and classy; you must wear pants and a collared shirt to dine in. Our waitress's name was Nicki, and she was pleasant and helpful. We had a choice of tap water, sparkling or rigid, so we chose Fiji because we would not drink the tap water. We ordered the bone marrow, lobster tempura, and lamb drumsticks. All were delicious and served in a beautiful presentation. The accompanying sauces were delicious and went well with the bread. The entrees were wagyu steak and lobster.; tuna with vegetables, and prepared to perfection. My wife and I were so full we did not eat dessert but plan on returning to try the sweet dishes. The bathroom was clean and we spent 320 bucks before the tip for two. I gave 5 mustaches for the food.. 4 mustaches for the service because it was a little slow at times.. however they were very busy. 5 mustaches for the atmosphere, although , it was a little loud at first, so not a great place for a " quiet " dinner for two. I do highly recommend going to Galveston and trying this steak house. I almost forgot the best part - the Caesar salad was to die for .. or maybe to pine for..

The staff did a great job at catering to a large reservation of 20 people, friendly and attentive. The food was delicious; I really enjoyed the crab cake and scallops. The atmosphere was nice and elegant. I highly recommend this steak house for an amazing food experience.

EXTRAORDINARY! If you are on Galveston island and looking for a special place to eat, look no further. My wife and I go to fine dinners at least once a week and we have been to some of the finest restaurants all over the country. Our night here is at the very top of anything we have experienced. The ambience is nice, the service is top notch, and the food was divine. The fried green tomatoes were cooked perfectly and topped with large fresh lump crab meat. The surf and turf tower for two was out of this world with the biggest prawns I have ever seen, lobster tail, scallops, and wagyu tenderloin. The wine list is very thought out and you can find something in every category and at every price. Denise Vargas ran the front of the house with precision. She is so delightful, spending time with every table. We look forward to being back on island soon and back to Vargas Cut and Catch.

We had a great time at this place. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The food was delicious 😋. The strand is a nice place to visit. Parking was across the street. We celebrated an anniversary ❤️. We will be back.

Great steak and seafood place. More upscale. The service was amazing. Multiple times we had multiple waitors helping to make sure our glasses were always full and checking on us. Food was amazing.

As usual, it was fantastic. The food was excellent. The service was exceptional. The wines were fine. The atmosphere was warm and friendly. I'm never disappointed.

Ok.. Just so everyone knows.. My wife and I are Steak & Seafood fine dining lovers. From Eddie V's, Perry's, Vic and Anthony's, SaltGrass, San Luis Steakhouse, and even to your normal Texas Roadhouse type place like Taste of Texas. Saying that, today we had a reservation at Vargas Cut and Catch for our Anniversary.. It is a sister or better yet say Daughter Company from the famous Iconic Steakhouse in Galveston Rudy and Paco's. We dined at their Chef's Table and the owner Denise Vargas treated us like family. She welcomed us into her home type experience. Amazing. The restaurant is a more innovative and bright luxury Steakhouse that is well designed for the modern day Steakhouse. Open area large beautiful open windows and it was delightful. Ok now to the Amazing food.. Everyone knows great food comes from love and Vargas DELIVERS.. Mrs. Vargas has a well trained team from her waiter Anthony to her Chefs. So I order the American Wagyu Hanger Steak with 2 super large blackened Shrimp with Lobster Crab Risotto and it was so perfectly executed. Delicious and cooked to perfection. My wife ordered the Salmon with Spinach and a side or large grilled Asparagus. 1st time she finished her plate... She loved everything. Of course not to take away from the Appetizers. Their Scallops with Risotto and their fried green tomatoes were just as delicious and perfectly executed like the meal itself. Keep in mind that they do have a full bar that will make your custom drinks on request. That being said.. IT IS A MUST TRY PLACE!! PERFECT DINING EXPERIENCE EVER! Thank you Mrs. Denise Vargas for the perfect dining experience and will be back 100% for sure. That red velvet surprise was thoughtful and definitely appreciated.

Fabulous service!!! Excellent food. Steak better than Perry’s 😘🤫 Seafood fabulous. Not cheap but you get what you pay for. Will be back for sure.
