This park would be amazing if it was kept up. The two playgrounds and the soccer fields are great. You can barely see the bike park anymore since it is so overgrown. The hiking trails are not currently maintained either.

Van Horn is a large Park area with multiple outlets for entertainment. The park has two parking lots, one on either side of the park. The west side of the park has a playground, fields and pavilions for kids soccer games and the like. While the east side of the park has a fair sized, open to the public, double gated dog park that's all open except a single evergreen tree on the side opposite the entry gates. The space has a slight down hill grade across most of it. There is also a small pond that people fish out of, a Male/Female restroom, and an off road type of bicycle course with a wooden fence enclosing it. There is a trail that connects the two sides of the park, but I've never ventured down it. I go primarily for the dog park, which has it's own Facebook group to try to coordinate play dates for the pups.
A safe place to let your pet meet other pets in a secure, fenced area. Picnic facilitates, clean and user friendly. Walking paths lead you over a bridge into lush natural settings. A wooded area is a plus for shade and the inspiration of tall trees that whispers high and low.
No parking when there are soccer games! Horrible! Had to miss the game because of No available Parking! So upset!

A great place to bird watch, even if the Rookery is closed March-August and best of all, it is all paved (unless you go off-trail)! You're still able to walk to the viewing path during special events outside of nesting season. This is not an asphalt

James and Derek were absolutely phenomenal. We come once a year for the last few years and everytime we have such a blast. We will be making an effort to come more often!

One of the best FLGS I've been to. It's way bigger on the inside, has rooms for gamers to rent, and their gently used games clearance is the best. Found many an OOP game on my wishlist here. Always super friendly and helpful
Birdwatching, walking, bike riding... Whatever you're into, you will not be disappointed. Amazingly beautiful scenery at this place that feel like you're on vacation when you're here. Depending on when you go, you will see lots of people taking pic

Course in excellent condition. Reasonably priced food/drinks. Greens fees also very well-priced and pro shop offering a wide variety of products. Can sometimes be busy but that's to be expected.
